So, currently I have a Kokadi Hemp, Nati Hemp, and a Girasol DW in my stash. Both my hemp blends are black and my girasol is being sold soon. I really need a good supportive and fun summer wrap. My son is 16 months and 30lbs. It doesn't get super hot here in the great NW, but to us 70 feels like 80. I was thinking of a linen blend, but am unsure. Thoughts?
I have a sheer gauze wrap I made from some 100% cotton fabric. I bought it on clearance, but even paying full price I bet you could get out for under $50.
I spent way too long agonizing over a summer wrap and decided to go with a 100% cotton Vat Whales (igloolik). I am thrilled with it. DS is much younger than your LO at 7 mos and 22ish pounds, but it's super supportive and comfy for both of us while still being breezy enough. I know you mentioned an interest in blends but thought I'd share FWIW.
I've never had a problem with 100% cotton in the sun. In fact, Girasol Amitola is my favorite for DC summers and Caribbean vacations. 80 sounds like lovely weather, so I think you have lots of options. But, if you want to geek out (I mean that in a nice way) about blends, colors, brands, etc. have you ever looked at Didymos fish? They tend to be very supportive. There are all different blends, but I'd steer you towards linen and cotton or all cotton.
