Ive done a little walking so far and today DD is a month old, in 2 weeks I should be cleared to exercise more. I want to start couch to 5K but I'm a little scared of the possible pain...thoughts or advice please.
I had DD1 in August. I joined a gym the following January, and still had pains around my incision when I pushed myself running. DD had done a lot of damage to my stomach muscles though, and I think I needed to work up to running at a much slower pace than I had.
Thanks for asking this! I am also hoping to do a Couch to 5K once I'm cleared. DD will be three weeks on Wednesday and we have been walking every day since we came home from the hospital (except for when it rained) - some days we do 10 minutes and others we spend most of the afternoon walking. Just stick to it.
It really depends how you feel. After DS, I was running right at 6 weeks. I never had pain or numbness around my scar though. Everyone is different. Your body will let you know what's too much.
I plan to start the C25k once I am six weeks PP. Based on my two previous CS I don't think it will be a problem. I was running up until 20 weeks with this pregnancy. My OB said I could start on an elliptical at 4 weeks post partum but nothing more until 6. Like a previous poster mentioned, it all depends on how you feel!
