I have an older, really basic top loader. To do a rinse I turn the knob to the middle of the cycle where it says rinse and start it there.
The washer fills, sits for about two minutes, then drains and spins.
This never seemed sufficient to me, so I have always done a light wash instead so there is at least some agitation.
But now it occurs to me that maybe that's what all rinse cycles look like? Am I overdoing it with the light wash, or does your rinse involve more than mine?

Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Also, even with my rinse agitating, I do a quick wash instead of a prerinse. I think the longer agitation helps.
