Colic calm?

Hi A14.

My 6 week old son has been showing signs of colic, esp at night from the hours of 630pm to 11pm. I'm a FTM and along with ripping my hair out, I'm trying everything from happiest baby on the block 5s's and the colic hold, bouncing, etc. I found he seems soothed whenever he burps or farts so I'm assuming it's trapped gas. We've been trying gripe water and it worked for a little while, but doesn't seem to do the trick anymore. Anyone have any experience with a product called "colic calm"? Or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Also-- I think this has been discussed before, so sorry for bringing it up again, but I'm mobile and can't fig out how to search. Thanks!!

  • I just started gerber soothe drops and they have been working miracles for the past two days. They are kind of pricey.... 30$ for a 25 day supply but they have been worth their weight in gold.

Gerber soothe drops are the best!

  • We use colic calm because of Blaires reflux and gas. I haven't used it a lot but it does seem to give her relief almost immediately. It's worth the try! My husband even tried it on himself and it reduced his heartburn
  • I asked this question a week or two ago. I went out and got colic calm at my local pharmacy and it works pretty well. My LO has GERD and lots of gas which makes him fussy, especially at night. It's slightly expensive (like the Gerber soothe drops), but I think it's worth it. It's not a cure all, and he is still fussy, but this lessens it. Beware: it's black. It stains things greyish and for me, it turned LO's poop black. It's still yellow, but has lots of black specks.

  • How about Simethicone? Our ped suggested it. Find it in the same aisle as Gripe Water and Colic Calm. It's anti-gas and I'm fairly certain you can take all 3 together.

  • Yeah the black specks in the poop are interesting I believe it's also all natural
  • I tried it for my colicky, gassy baby. He seems to love the taste and immediately calms down when I give him Colic Calm. However, he usually starts fussing again within 5-10 min. I ordered the Gerber soothe, so I'm hoping that has more lasting effects. Good luck!
