  • He fusses when put down drowsy when I'm putting him down for the night, but MOTN I can put him down as soon as he's done nursing and he'll roll around and talk himself back to sleep (thank the heavens!)

  • I can get LO back to sleep after nursing in the MOTN in a heartbeat BUT getting her down for the night the hardest part of parenting so far for me. Takes FOREVER some night and makes me stabby!

This. Except "some nights" is ALL the nights. Ugh.

I chose after a MOTN wakeup - but he actually goes to sleep quite easily, the hard part is transferring him to his crib. He seems sleep more lightly after being nursed MOTN (probably because he's less tired), so he will often wake up again after I set him down, which is the difficult part because he doesn't self-soothe yet.

Shannahbee Do you feed him laying down for the MOTN feeding? I came up with a solution for an easy transfer. When LO wakes up I lay her on top of a small blanket in my bed. I then nurse her laying beside her and when she's done and back asleep I get up and then pick up the blanket with her on it. Then I lay the blanket and her in her cradle. She used to always wake if my hand touched her skin (behind her head) so this is a life saver for me!!!! Could work for sitting up feedings too really. I smooth the blanket out really well and she sleeps swaddled so I'm not really worried about the blanket being in the bed. Plus I'm 2 feet away.

Getting LO down for the night is the easiest thing in the world- and actually she's not hard to put back down MOTN if she wakes up for the paci. I just pop the paci back in and she's back off to dreamland. What's most difficult for us is middle of nap wake ups. Ugh...napping is the hardest thing for us.

Getting lo to nap is by far my biggest challenge. I know that wasn't a option....

Samesies. She nurses to sleep but for whatever reason, it's never as deeply when/if we have a MOTN feeding.

  • I'm another SS. DD usually takes a bottle around 630pm and goes to sleep. Lately, she's been sleeping until 3-4am, which is amazing...but then she wakes up and wants to play after her bottle. She used to wake up around midnight and then go back down until a more normal time [6-7am], but that hasn't been the case lately. I should be grateful she sleeps for a long time right now, but 4am baby parties - when I have an alarm set for 6am - make for a very long day.
