Parenting after a Loss

Fertility Dr after multiple losses ???

I am currently going through loss #4  :(  I swear the universe hates me.

My OB is sending me to meet with a fertility dr regarding my losses.  I was just wondering what other experiences were like.  What tests did you have run?  What was your plan? Any questions I should be asking?   I understand they are going to be different based on the person, just trying to get a feel of what is coming my way.

Thanks for your thoughts ladies.

Others who have been through the RLP (repeat loss testing) can give you more details but at a high level - they'll do blood work, probably on you and your partner to look for genetic issues. They'll also probably look at your uterus via ultrasound to identify any physical problems or abnormalities. They'll do a full history and ask you about any symptoms you have that might help them diagnose various issues that could be causing problems including asking about your cycles. If you've been doing any charting, bring that info along as it could be helpful.

I hope you get some answers and I'm sorry for all your losses.

  • I'm so sorry. Boots has it down. Those are the tests I had. I was also tested for clotting issues. I hope you get answers. In our case, our two losses remain unexplained, but we suspect low progesterone and crap follicle quality. With an REs help and progesterone supplements, we were (obviously) able to carry to term. I am sorry for your losses.

Thanks ladies. I really worry about my egg quality because of my age. I'm very excited/nervous to get this started. I'm ready to bring home LO #2 and be done with TTC.
