Post iud removal pain. TMI

It's been a week and a half since the removal. When she took it out it felt like it was attached to the left side of my uterus. One little spot hurt, I almost told her to stop. I also had a uti, so I can't tell for sure whether the initial cramping was from the removal or uti.

A few days ago my whole vagina started hurting, like that achy pain that radiates down. My uterus and I think my ovary also started hurting. It's like a sharp achy pain. It's stopped me in my tracks a few times.

I have PCOS, so I'm thinking it might be cysts, or maybe it's just my uterus getting used to no foreign object invading it's space. Then I googled, I know that's bad, and now I'm totally freaking out thinking I have some horrible infection from the removal and bacteria getting up in there.

I also had what I think was a short period already and some spotting.

Has anyone else had this post removal?

No the speculum didn't cause any issues, I'm pretty stretched out down there after a 4th degree tear and two almost 9lbs babies ;) I never even notice when the stick it in. That's so terrible.

It's like that pain in your vagina when you have really bad af and when pregnant. I'm not pregnant I POAS right before if was removed.

  • I had similar vaginal pain when mine was removed but it only lasted a short while during the first AF after it came out. And it was also like the worst period I had ever had. I didn't have the painful removal like you did and I wasn't in pain right away. I would probably call. It doesn't hurt to talk to the nurse.

  • Which IUD did you get removed?

I just got the Paragard put in a few days ago, and every now and then I'll get pain in my vagina and the left side of my uterus. Sometimes I get pain in my cervix. It makes me all paranoid that the IUD migrated and/or embedded onto the walls of my uterus.

The mirena. I didn't do the paraguard because my mom had an allergic reaction to the metal when she had it.

  • I would call. Sounds like a significant amount of pain.i would be concerned about infection.

I had some cramping, and about 5 days of bleeding after my IUD came out.
Also, no exaggeration, I was knocked up a week later. So, just giving you a heads up that you could be super fertile after. Maybe that's what you are going for :) You could be having ovary pain from ovulating.
Some bleeding and cramping is normal. Does ibuprofen help the pain?
