(FYI this story is candid and long).
Hi everyone! Thank you for your prayers, positive thoughts and words of encouragement. It's been a very rough, painful and hazy 4 days.
5/13 Cervidil wasn't placed properly and barely worked. My cervix was barely softened or dilated and wasn't effaced at all.
5/14: My doctor started Pitocin and placed the balloon apparatus/foley to help me dilate. It dilated me to 3.5. They also put me on Magnesium and a pain killer and I became physically sick for way too long.
5/15: My Doctor broke my water at 3:30. Contractions started right after this but were slow and inconsistent.
They picked up again and I asked for the epidural at 7:30 which took 4 attempts and 3 nurses and 2 doctors to get it in after an hour.
At 10pm the doctor told me she wouldn't put me through any more induction procedures or labor because we were both headed towards distress.
Annaliese Grace came into the world, loud and proud, and is 5 lbs and 1.5 ounces and is 19 inches. She was born at 10:33 pm. She is able to breathe independently and can eat on her own. She peed all over the NICU team at birth. Little rascal! However, they want her to eat certain amounts during the day /at one sitting, she is cutting it close. If she can't keep up they will use a feeding tube.
I am trying very hard to pump breast milk for her! I'm in an enormous amount of pain and after a month here I had my first break down last night.
My body wasn't ready to have a baby but I'm hoping it will all come together!

Sorry that your birth experience did not go as planned, but your beautiful little girl is here and you both made it!!

Who ever said pitocin was the devils drug had never had magnesium for days!! That is the devils drug. I am so glad you both are doing better. I can't wait to watch her grow!!
