Re: ~*~1st Tri Check In 5/16 ~*~

  • hey ladies.  I'm 11W1day.  Feeling good, definitely have a little bump.  NT scan is next week.  Def have anxiety about next ultrasound, it's been a month, so ready to see the little peanut again!

Signed up for childcare this week and still trying to fly under the radar at work :-)

QOTW:  We told all of our very close friends and family.  We're not really planning on making any formal announcements, so most of our close f&f knew about our IF journey.

    Have a great week, everyone!

    IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14

  • Hi ladies!  Can I join?  I have one little bean in my oven and my due date is 12/13/14.  I love my due date, but it will never happen.  I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and I'm excited.  I never thought we'd get to this point.  :)

My first OB appointment is on Monday.  From what I gather it's just an information session and they'll take a ton of blood.  I should find out when I can come back for an ultrasound at the appointment.  I'm a little freaked out that we can't have an ultrasound, but I have to learn to be patient.

QOTW:  We have told our parents and some of our friends and family.  We told the folks that we thought would be able to keep it secret.
Married on October 20, 2012.  Began trying in January 2013.
RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis
IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!

I'm 11w6d and feeling better and better.  The nausea is still there, just not as much as a few weeks ago so I'll take it.  My next appointment is on the 29th, which can't come quick enough.  No u/s but I'm anxious to hear the hb again.

QOTW:  We have told our immediate families, my best friend and a girlfriend at work.  We will see a lot of DH's extended family this weekend so I think we'll tell them then.  And the rest of the world will know around memorial day weekend when I'll be 13w.  Almost out of the 1st tri!!

  • I can't believe I am almost to 2nd tri!  Doing well and counting down the days until my next OB appointment when I'll be 14w1d.

QOTW: My family and close friends know.  My boss also knows because he walked into my office when I was tearing up after having a bleeding scare 2 weeks ago.  Not the way I wanted to tell him, but I had to tell him something since he saw me in tears.  Oh well.  We plan to announce to everyone else after our next OB appt.

  • Congrats to all you moving on to the 2nd tri! I hope to see you very soon! :-)

AFM: After I was all braggy, "I think I'm over my morning sickness!" last week, the nausea came back like a sonuvabeetch this week Wednesday and Thursday (so that would've been 11w5-6d). Along with it brought its BFF Extreme Exhaustion. I'm telling myself the babies were just going through a growing spurt. Today seems a little better, but I am not getting too optimistic (made that mistake already).

Despite swearing I was not going to go there, we bought a Sonoline B doppler to listen to the babies' heartbeats at home. It arrived Monday and I promised myself I wasn't going to be too disappointed if we couldn't find them, but amazingly enough we found both of them within 5 minutes (the first one in like 30 seconds -- Baby B is kind of a showoff).

Upcoming we have our NT scan on Monday!

QOTW:  Our family, close friends, and coworkers know. Really, the only thing I've been waiting on is to do an FB "official" announcement and I think we're going to do that after our NT scan on Monday. It's a little bit before the end of the first trimester, but it's like pretty much everyone else knows anyway. Plus, my cousin posted a link on my FB wall earlier this week about having twins and I was like in the car on my way home in a hurry to hide it before other people saw. It was just silly.

Nothing exciting to report this week. I have my first OB apt May 27 which seems like forever away. we are having some trouble getting the NT scheduled. Hopefully that will get set up soon because we are running out of time.

  • Hi ladies, I'm 11w2d today and feeling good. I decided to transfer care to a MFM as my OB was clueless about lovenox and MTHFR. I see the MFM on Wed morning. I worked way too hard for these shoes to mess around with doctors who aren't top notch. I'm old with twins and lovenox, lol!

the only people who we've told are my parents and sister/BIL. We will tell DH's family over Memorial Day weekend. I'd personally rather wait until after the nt scan or Verifi test but I don't think we can avoid his family much longer.

  • Hello Everyone! Hopefully I can join here. :-h

I am a 2IF grad, who did go through IVF.  We have one growing away. I am currently 8w6d and my due date is 12/20/14.  I have been so effin tired, I can't hardly stand it and no way to nap in the day.  Some nausea but no actual getting sick.

QOTW:  My immediate family knows, and that is all.  We will tell his parents when they are here in two weeks. Which will also be after my first OB appointment, and I think that will make us feel better in telling them.  They are from out of town and have NO idea what we have been through.  We plan on telling them in a story time way and give them the details.

  • WoW!!! I seriously can't believe this is my last 1st tri check in either!  Currently 13w5d.  Like others said, I'm super glad the EXTREME exhaustion is starting to fade.  We have our 2nd "official" OB appointment next week, although we've been there 2 other times due to some spotting and an awesome bladder infection.  Fun stuff.

QOTW- We're pretty much "out" with our family and friends.  We are not going to make a FB post, as we don't feel that anyone not in our direct circle really needs to know.

  • I am a newbie- can I join? I just graduated from my clinic. First round of IVF seems to have taken after 3 years of trying. EDD is 1/6/2015. So excited. Just 1 bean. I was talked into just transferring one. Hoping for happy and healthy, but really wanted twins. Looking forward to joining this group. Thanks!

Hi ladies! I'm 12w5d today. NT scan was this week - both babies are measuring perfect. Morning sickness and food aversions seem to be easing up too (knock on wood). I've been having pretty bad insomnia off & on since the BFP - anyone else dealing with this?

QOTW: Our family, friends, & co-workers know. Thinking about doing a FB announcement this weekend.

It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!

Hi ladies! Congrats to all of the ladies moving on to 2nd tri! I can't wait to make that milestone and be that much closer to meeting these babies!

Our 2nd u/s is on Monday. I'm nervous that everything is okay, but I think I just need to stop worrying about every little thing. I'm not sure how I'll accomplish that! I'm officially down to 2 pairs of pants/skirts that fit. I wasn't going to let myself get maternity clothes until after our next u/s, but I either got new clothes or went to work without pants 3 days next week! My coworkers will be appreciative that I just went for the new clothes idea! I felt like a fraud when I was shopping. Weird because when I looked in the mirror, I look pregnant. It was like I was looking at someone else!

QOTD: MH's parents and my parents know, along with a coworker who covers my class so I can pee every freaking hour know. But, that's it at this point. We'll tell DS if our u/s is good on Monday, then we'll slowly start telling our close friends. This is going to be really hard to hide!

    My Blog

  • My EDD is 23rd of November, sorry forgot before! 1 baby,

QOTD: my parents knew all the updates the whole way through our cycle. Had to have a friend watch our son so we could do the egg retrieval so she knew we were cycling and it didn't feel right not telling her when she asked.  They my parents told my brothers when we were about 9 weeks as they were figuring it out & asking questions. I've told one person at work, my husband has told his colleagues. Haven't told the inlaws yet & in rush to AT ALL. Yeah I know that's terrible!

:\"> After their reaction from last time I'd wait till after the birth if I thought I could get away with it.

Congrats to everyone moving on to 2nd trimester!  I'm 11w3d and feeling better all the time.  We had a heat wave last week and that kicked my butt.  I have my next OB appt Friday!!!!!!!  It has been 5 weeks.  A friend let me use her dopplar to find the heart beats but I'm not sure if I'm finding one or both.  Its tricky.  There is at least one there.  My NT scan is set for the 28th.

QOTW:  Our close friends and family know.  DH is not close to his mom so she still doesn't know but maybe if she called once in a while she would know.  Planning on making a formal announcement after NT scan :)

  • I went for 12 week visit today. I am measuring 12 week 5 days with a HB of 150. So far, so good. Neck was measuring good, so let's hope all that other chomosomal testing comes back in my favor.

QOTD: I let it slip to my bosses. They were both very excited. We will be telling all of our families next weekened when we see them. I don't think they will be very surprised as they knew we would be trying immediately upon getting married due to our ages. They didn't know we did any IVF stuff, so it will be interesting to see if they ask. (both sides have tons of history of it, so they might just instintively ask based on our ages)

  • Hi all :)  I am 9w2d ish and have one 'bean'.

I am nervous because I am having a TAC (abdominal cerclage) placed on Monday because of my IC. We opted not to get a TVC (vaginal cerclage) after talking with and being examined by our RE and MFM and being told I have a very short cervix, so a vaginal cerclage would be more of a gamble than we are willing to take.  Any positive thoughts anyone has to spare are appreciated.  <3

We have told my parents and sisters because they all knew we were going through another IVF cycle.  We aren't planning to tell anyone else until it becomes obvious or they ask, including Dh's mom.  She is a huge talker and very social, and hounded us all the time during my last pregnancy asking when she could tell.  So we are avoiding that by not telling *her*, lol.

I hope everyone is doing well, and that you all have a wonderful weekend <3

  • I'm a little late to the check in but I'm 11w3d. I have a NP appt on Monday but I doubt she's doing an u/s but hopefully will use the Doppler. I also have the NT scan on Tues and I'm excited/nervous about that

QOTW: we have told all our families and I've told people at work only because I'm starting to really show. My dh has told his boss but that's about it at work.
    Diagnosed MFI- low sperm count

  • Can I be added, pretty please? EDD - 12/6 with 1 bean :)

QOTW: I have only told my best friend, my mom, and my MIL. We told my MIL it was still on the d/l at about 6 weeks (right after seeing the hb). But somehow, one of his sisters definitely knows, and my dh had dinner with his second cousin the past week while he was on business travel and got a "congratulations" from him too. WTH? We didn't swear his mom to secrecy, but I suppose she's just excited. I plan on my telling my cousin next week, and hope her feelings aren't hurt I didn't tell her earlier. She just went through a breakup, and definitely wants to have kids soon so I didn't want to be insensitive. My mom plans on telling my brother and sister next week too (they are teenagers and will probably have big mouths as well). :)

  • I had my 6week apt and saw the heartbeat. I cried like a big baby. Tears of joy. I had my first encounter with morning sickness on Thursday, but feeling better now.

OOTD; I've told two close friends and my parents. It's been so hard to keep it from hubby's family because we see them almost every weekend. Want to get through the first trimester. I really want to tell my sis in law because I need her support. I'm leaning towards doing that after 8 week appt.

  • I've been feeling pretty good for the most part, a little nausea here and there, but nothing terrible.  We had an ultrasound/appointment on Wednesday.  Everything was still right on track.  After the ultrasound my doctor wanted to see if he could find the heartbeat "just for fun" I was only 9w2d.  He found it almost right away, and it was amazing!  I have my NT scan scheduled for June 4th, I am anxious, but excited.
QOTD: We have told our immediate family and my 3 closest friends who know about our losses and struggles with IF.  We'll tell the rest of our family and friends if all goes well at our NT appointment.

  • Late check in here! We just got back from jamaica and on my first night home I had crazy strong cramping all night. It really freaked me out and I was planning for the worst. To my surprise today's NT scan could not have been better. Our results came in at the very top with 1 in 10,000 chance of downs and T18.
which leads me to QOTW: we announced to our extended family and friends today! I was still apprehensive but became so giddy after hearing everyone's reactions. Their excitement is finally rubbing off on me.

Sorry forgot other details, 1 bean, EDD 1/8/15

QOTD:  Our parents and siblings know, aunts and uncles know IVF but not the details (as a couple of uncles had infertility issues and we inquired for family history purposes), close friends, and some of my co-workers know just because I can't take certain pts etc.  Everyone has been super supportive.  We started a blog to keep everyone informed and they know to read the blog and not ask questions as we go through this process.

  • I’ve been a lurker for the past few weeks, but I think I’m ready to join PAIF! I’m currently 8 wks pregnant with one bean and the EDD is 12/30/2014.

I’ve had 2 u/s so far with my RE and so far everything looks great! Our little nugget is growing fast! We haven’t heard the hb (our RE doesn’t listen for it so we have to wait till I see my OB), but we’ve seen the heart beating and our RE says everything is right on track. I have one more u/s next week with my RE which will hopefully be my last. He wants to see our nugget wiggle and move a bit before he feels comfortable to send me on my way.

I have all the typical first tri symptoms. The morning sickness is more like all day vomit fest, but I’m still able to keep fluids and some food in. People at work are starting to give my now giant rack and bloated tummy weird looks. I’m hoping the next 4-5 weeks will go smoothly and this pregnancy will finally be our rainbow baby!

QOTW: Because of the IVF our family and closest friends know. I’m not on fb and don’t think I’m going to be making any public announcement. The people that I want to celebrate and confide in already know and everyone else will eventually figure it out.  I’m a geologist and work in sometimes remote places and am sometimes around hazardous chemicals so I had to tell my supervisor very early on (he knew about the IVF). He is keeping it under wraps and keeping me chained to my desk. I can’t wait til I’m in my second trimester and can finally just come out and tell my coworkers rather than having to make up excuses on why I’m not out in the field.

@saintelizabeth congrats, being a geologist sounds soo cool!  AFM, I am meeting with the nurse from a regular old OB clinic today!  It is my first appointment, I guess a lot of paperwork :P  I'm super excited!!!!  My first US with OB clinic will be at 10.5 weeks....it is going to be a long 4 weeks till that appointment, especially after getting use to the RE clinic and frequent check-ups.  My L&D friend gave me a list of OB/Midwives she loves to work with, we really wanted a midwife but they all practice out of the hospital, which is pretty inconvenient for us.  We really want to go to OB office next to our IVF clinic 5 minutes from our house and only one person from her list practices there, so we decided to go with her!

Hi I was going to wait to join a PAIF group but my IF group has really died down, I am 6wk 1d today with twins. We saw our babies yesterday and their little hearts beating, one
was right on track at 6wk HB 125 and the
other is one day behind with HB 97, I was
concerned about that HB being a little low
but my RE said he isn't concerned at all
because it's just getting started and its
normal for one twin to be a little behind, so
I'm paying that baby b will keep growing
strong. It's pretty unreal to me at this point
that I actually have two little heartbeats
inside of me but I'm sure that this won't
actually sink in until a little later! But for now
I thank the Lord that everything is going
great so far. I won't have another u/s until 8wks so that feels like forever away! DH and I are going to the beach for the weekend so I'm looking forward to the break from everything! My RE got some zofran ordered for me so I'm hoping I'm able to fully enjoy our little getaway :-)

Our immediate family and a couple close friends that know about our IF know about this preg and the management at my work know, I think I'm going to wait a couple more weeks before telling more ppl but I'm sure it's not going to take long for my MIL to announce this to the treat of DH's family! Ive had some pretty strong nausea and thrown up once so far, other than that my boobs are just really really sore and swollen, which is fine by me since I don't have much to begin with :-)
