Mom problems

Ugh, I'm so sick of my mother thinking she knows best! I have a higher than normal amount of amniotic fluid, which I did with my first, and my mom is convinced that I need to "starve the baby out" because that's what my last ob told me to do. Basically put me on a GD diet despite the fact that I'm so far from diabetic it's almost laughable. She's convinced that will decrease the amount of fluid that's there. Honestly, I'm pretty sure my body just makes more than is necessary. Telling me to essentially starve myself is not going to help this baby at all, nor is it going to make me any happier. My ob hasn't said anything about the high fluid except the fact that he's not engaged and just floating happily in there. Doesn't help that I'm bitchy because of a lack of progress despite 3 days of contracting...

Yes, I realize that. I guess that was a poor choice of words. That's more what my mom suggested, is all - sticking to salad and water for two to three weeks, not necessarily GD diet. It's only frustrating that I'm being treated as diabetic when I'm not...plus my mom has opinions on my weight, but that's a whole other story.

Does your mom have a medical degree?  Doesn't sound like it.    I have no good advice here, but can DEFINITELY relate...  My MIL has been telling me all pregnancy that I'm drinking too much water (80 oz a day) and that it is flushing my system of vitamins and minerals.  I just try to ignore her, but it's so hard.  Hang in there!!!
