AppleCheeks new color - what do you think?

Sorry the picture's not bigger - it was the best I could do, since I think so far they've only announced the color on their Facebook page.  It's called Riptide.

I like it because it reminds me of BG mirror, and that's my favorite color diaper ever.  Not sure it'd make me give AppleCheeks diapers a try though.

I like it. Most of their current colors are darker colors, so it's nice to see a lighter one. I already have more ACs than I need though.

I like it because it it very gender neutral, not that my son doesn't wear a pink diaper.

I don't have any applecheeks but I think I want one. I was looking a them tonight and want purple rain but apparently that was a limited edition color?

Yes it was.  I wanted one so bad, but MH didn't want G wearing a "girl" color.  I so wish I would have thought to tell it him it's more like a dark Kstate/Vikings purple not a girly purple. 

FWIW they release a new limited edition color once or twice a year.  Some of the smaller stores sometimes have a size 2 in the last limited edition color sitting around for a little while.  I found a Wild Child months after it was OOP that way.

Exactly what you said in your OP. It looks like mirror and that is my favourite solid colour diaper. I am thinking about buying one in a size 2 since I will need to buy some of them for DD eventually anyway.

@CLLDLL‌ I will have to keep my out for one. I don't consider purple a girly color, especially one that dark. I have some light purple diapers but have been on the lookout for a deep purple like the AC one so I was so excited when I found it.

This sounds stupid, but I don't know any better: are AC's pockets? It's called an envelope cover, but it's totally a pocket, right?

I was questioning the same thing when looking at them last night. Definitely a pocket but I get the impression they an easily be used as covers too.

They market them to be used as a pocket or an AI2.  It's a really trim PUL cover with a microfleece liner sewn inside.  The opening where you'd stuff for pocket-like use is in the middle.  It's very wide, so makes for super easy stuffing.  (The inserts agitate out so you don't have to unstuff before washing, so the opening in middle is a non-issue for poop diapers.)

The AI2 use is kind of like a SoftBums or a Grovia with out the snaps.  They work great for non-super soaked pee diapers and plopable poo diapers.  If it's a really wet one or a runny NB poo, you're gonna need a new cover.  

I LOVE their bamboo 2-ply inserts though.  Super trim, super absorbent.  I used two of them in an AC pocket from when G was 2 months to around 4 months for ON diapering.  Now I use them as doublers for his nap/ON diapers.  I also use them to stuff other pockets besides just AC when I want a trim fit with plenty of absorbency. 

They do also work pretty well as a cover over a flat, but because they are so trim fitting I don't like them over prefolds or anything bulky.
