Funny blog

Funny because it's so true,
Once We Become Parents We Don't Want to Hang Out With You Anymore (But Not for the Reasons You Think)

Re: Funny blog

  • I saw this yesterday :)

I'm having issues with scheduling doctor's appointments because I have to work around the doctor's hours and DD's nap times. Also need to get the dog a grooming appointment. DH doesn't seem to understand that it's not as simple as just doing it. Although, I guess I could just do it if I didn't care about having a cranky, frustrated, and/or hungry child on my hands.

Re the article, I have a strict home by 8pm rule because that is DD's bedtime. I've had to tell ILs that if they want us to go out to eat with them, then we have to eat early enough that I and DD can be home before her bedtime.

  • Yeah the evenings are the trickiest for us because she goes to bed at 7. She is so done at that point and if we go somewhere in the evening then she will fall asleep in the car on the way home, then she is a nightmare to get to bed. So we rarely go places in the evening unless it's a very early dinner :p
  • ILs were coming into town one weekend to stay with us and asked if we wanted to go out to dinner with them. I told DH to let them know that we have to be home before 8pm, so dinner has to be no later than 6:30pm. He has to let SFIL know that because he has a habit of stopping in places on the way on a whim and no telling when they would get here. I said that if they were here later than 6:30pm, I'd be fine with DH going to dinner with them, but then I and DD would be staying home and not going with them.

They agreed to meet us at a restaurant about a mile from our house no later than 6:30pm and they were actually on time ;)

I was such a pushover before I had a baby. Now I routinely put my foot down on many things. I'm grateful that DH is on board with me.
