Kind of an Intro?/Heart rate question

Hi Ladies,

I was waiting to into after being released to my RE but now I have mixed emotions....

I recently had my last u/s with my RE on Monday. I was measuring right on track (8 weeks) with a heart beat. I was really happy with that news until I heard the heart rate. They measured it at 133. In comparison with other's, this seems low to me. My RE was not concerned and said they were looking for anything between 120-180. My RE released me & my first OB appt is not for another couple of weeks. Today I do not feel as nauseous and now my IF brain is kicking in. Thoughts? Similar stories? You can give it to me straight. I've been through so much already, I can take it. Thanks for listening.

I remember my 8 week hb was lower than my 7 week and it was fine! I think 8 week was 129 and now baby is always 160!

I don't remember exact #'s, but I know mine jump around each time they are checked. As long as the doc says each are in normal range, I never gave it a second thought. I know that IF brain never goes away, but it sounds like your baby's hb was completely normal! Congrats & welcome over here!!

Oh sweetie-- try not to look for trouble!! I know it's hard. My doc said the same range120-180-- it's a huge range. Don't look into not feeling nauseous. Somehow we need to assume everything is fine until the next scan. Deep breaths:-)

My ds always had a lower heart rate. Never above 150 usually 130-140. There's an OWT that boys heart rates are lower and in my case it was 100% true.
He's almost 3 and has a crazy amount of energy so id try not to worry too much.

I just got released as well, and my first OB she said the same thing - heart rate from 120 to 180 was normal. I was concerned because I was measuring 2 days behind, but she also said that anything within a 1 week variance was fine since the machines aren't perfect and the baby is still so little. I went through the same thing about feeling less "symptoms" and it turned out it was nothing. Symptoms will come and go (mine came back a few days after). Try to tell yourself that you are doing everything you can, and worrying will not change it. You have already beat the odds at this point, everything I've read says that after the 8 week u/s with heartbeat, your odds of MC are less than 5%. My RE also told me the same thing on graduation day. So the odds are definitely in your favor - chin up!

That sounds normal. And I don't know if it's an old wives tale or what, but I have 'heard' that boys HR tend to be lower whereas girls are higher. My girl was higher than that but I know lots of people have had babies with lower (like yours) and were just perfect! Hugs and welcome to the board. I hope you get some good news soon to put your mind to ease!

ETA: Omg, I typed "that sounds lower" when I meant to type "that sounds NORMAL" I have no idea what this crazy brain was doing to my fingers when I typed that. I hope I didn't scare you with my stupid inability to type what I'm thinking!

I think you're totally normal! At my recent appt, at 18w4d, one twin was measuring 135bpm, and I said the same thing, "oh wow is that normal? it seems low!" and she kind of jostled my belly around and did it again, and it was 140 something once baby started moving. She said not to worry- all of these readings are in normal range. I know it's tough not to worry!!

I asked by doc this yesterday. They said that as long as the heartbeat is in that range in the first trimester it doesn't matter because the rhythm doesn't settle out till the second trimester. That little heart is still getting used to beating

its hard not to let IF brain get the best of you, but as pp have stated its well within normal range and if your RE was happy with it, that should give you some piece of mind.
