Babies on the Brain

Ok, let's try this again. Is my chart messed up?

So I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago thinking MAYBE I was possibly pregnant, that was, as many of you pointed out, really stupid. Y'all told me to read "Taking Charge of Your Fertily," which I went out and bought the next day and read cover to cover in two days.

I started temping/ charting orally every morning between 5am and 5:30am when I wake up for work, starting the first day of my next period. I was excited, feeling like I had educated myself and was really taking control. But now I'm super frustrated because even though I feel like I'm following what I read to the T, my chart looks super wonky. Like, way more jagged and uneven than anything I've read or seen.

Advice? Opinions? Also, how specific is your BBT thermometer? Like, does it measure to the tenth of the degree or the hundredth?

  • Geez, WHY can I not handle posting a picture? I'm SO sorry for my apparent incompetence. It's been a long day at work.

  • UGH seriously, why can I not post a picture? Any advice on that too? Because apparently I can't handle temping, charting, or posting pictures right now. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
  • Mine goes to the hundredth of a degree. Idk. Maybe I'm just being crazy because I'm new at this, and it's important to me and I SO badly want to be good at this. I lay in bed in the morning, take my temperature, entire it in my FF app, and then look at it later in the day and feel so frustrated. Just gotta keep practicing and try not to stress I guess.

    Any other advice is appreciated!
  • Thanks ladies. I've always been a little prone to anxiety. Tests in high school and undergrad, and practically every waking moment of my life in nursing school made me SO nervous! I think I'm just putting too much pressure on myself to be awesome at this. I'm definitely going to keep at it, and maybe next cycle I'll temp vaginally if I still feel like things look really uneven. But how do you temp vaginally when you have your period? Maybe (probably) this is a stupid question, but is there like, a tampon factor with vaginal temping? Too many questions!

Guess I just need to relax more, get more sleep, and have more sex with that hot guy I married, and just see what happens!

I temped vaginally and just didn't temp during my period (major gross factor to me). Never had an issue catching my temp shift with the first few days missing.

I wanted to add that the book even mentions that temps during your period can be very erratic and all over the place. :) Doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong
