Did I miss it?

Hello All

I am new here - so not really sure how this works - but hi!

My husband and I have recently gotten off BCP (after me being on some kind of contraceptive or another for about 10 years). The most recent was LoLoestrin FE, which is supposed to be a super low dose.

We are using the Wondofo ovulation testing strips, and I have been testing since day 5 ~ Once a day (around 5pm). I did notice days 10 and 11 were definitely darker than the days before them and after them - but they were definitely not positive either. Starting day 12, I started testing twice a day (2pm and 8pm). On Day 16, I started getting antsy and began testing 3 times a day (First pee, 2pm and 8pm). I am currently on day 20 and I haven't gotten anything yet :( I am wondering if it is possible that I missed it? Is it possible to have missed it with as often as I am testing?

According to a couple of months of temping during winter, I *think* I ovulated around CD27. So I wouldn't panic! I second starting temping and using the Fertility Friend app and/or website to track your temps and any other signs (OPKs, CM, etc). Like Joy said, OPKs can only predict that you are gearing up, temping confirms if/when you did ovulate.

Like I said - I am really new to this - I have heard about temping but have no idea how one even goes about that. I guess that is something I need to look in to.

If you want to try it (which I recommend), buy a BBT thermometer. Before moving around or getting out of bed, just take your temp orally or vaginally every morning around the same time after getting at least 3 hours of sleep. Record those temps in FF. You should notice a pattern of your temp rising and staying up when you ovulate, until you get your period.
  • Thank you to both of you for your help! I really appreciate it!

Heading to Fertility Friend right now and to the store after work to get a thermometer.

  • So I have my thermometer and have gotten my Fertility Friend all set up. Have gotten two temps on there - Now I guess I will just wait and see :)

I only wish I would have known about all this earlier, as I don't know how much info I am going to get with my temps not starting until CD21. I am thinking this cycle is a lost cause at this point. But I am going to keep at taking the OPKs until I start my next period, just in case!
