Daycare Trasition

Today is DS's 3rd day in daycare. Prior to that we paid my mother to watch him but we all agreed it was time for a center for socialization, learning, etc.

Day 1 - he did great - everyone was amazed at how well he did, and I saw on the cameras in the main office he stopped crying about a minute after I left.
Day 2 - Stopped crying by the time I was in the office to see the monitors, the teachers said he had a great day until about 15 min before I got there. When the others mom's started coming in to get their LOs he freaked out, cried until he puked, and was sad until I got there.

Today - Cried for 10 min after I left and got upset every time a parent came in to drop off - expect the same at pick up. When I called the teacher said he is fine - dancing and playing and all of that until he sees a parent. ( I didn't call days 1 and 2 because he seemed to be content by the time I left).

Tell me this is normal and I am being a freak for being so upset that he is unhappy!! If this happened to your LO how long did it last?

I think at your childs age this is so normal. give him a little time to adjust and get used to his new surroundings. pretty soon, he will be crying because you are making him leave. DS is 15 mos old and a few weeks ago for the first time i went to get him and said "you want to go home?" and he shook his head no!
