Ladies,

I know i missed last week, but for whatever reason I'm having real lazies when it comes to the Accountability Thread and My Fitness Pal.

So for the past two weeks I've been walking half way into work, about a 30min walk and trying to watch my food intake, the scale went down .8, Tiny sarcastic YEA.

What's been going on with you ladies.  How's the unpacking going @kerbear135?

Re: Accountability Thread

  • Slowly...but it's going...I usually keep DD occupied while DH unpacks, but on rare occasions, she actually occupies herself and lets us both do a little unpacking.

Starting this week, I am trying to scale back my caffeine intake and drink more water. It's hard- I am not only addicted to caffeine, but I much prefer having a soda when I'm eating as opposed to water. I've added a cup of green tea to my morning routine to get a little caffeine in my system so I don't get withdrawal headaches, and then plan is to by decaf when the box I have now is empty. I am trying to stick with water to sip on while sitting at my desk, and then allow myself 1 soda for either lunch or dinner, having water with the other meal...it's only been 2 days, but I'm doing well so far.

I haven't seen much difference on the scale, but I was able to wear a pair of dress pants that I haven't been able to wear since well before getting pregnant with DD, so I'll take it and I'll like it.

  • @kerbear, try buying low sodium seltzer water and mixing in flavoring, maybe that will trick your brain into thinking your drinking soda.

  • I haven't done this thread before, but I hope it's ok that I join in. I am trying to get back down to my PP weight, which is still about 15lbs away (I gained 50with DD). I keep wondering if this is just the weight I'm gonna be from now on since it has been 17 months.

Anyway, I am giving it a little more effort this time, but I am TOTALLY addicted to carbs. Hopefully joining this thread will help me be more accountable, hopefully.

I bought a Soda Stream for this reason- I was going to carbonate water and then make crystal light or add a little fruit juice or something else, but I haven't been very good at doing it lately since we moved and just unpacked it

  • I am doing horrible! I snack like crazy before bed and haven't gone for many walks. With the warmer weather I seem to be craving fresh fruit and vegetables so hopefully things get better! I also decided to stop weighing myself and go by how my clothes fit. I was getting discourage when I thought I was doing well and felt good but then the scale said I gained.
  • @addy1227, You're not doing horrible, you'll get back on track.  I don't know how the weather has been where you are, but here in MA we are NOW jsut getting tolerable weather to walk out in.  You might want to check out and see if there are any farm stands or farmers markets nearby, you get walk in and support your local farms, although they can be a bit more expensive then a super market, but not not by much lol.  The scale for the past two weeks hasn't budge for me either, but don't get discouraged, we all know what you are going threw.
  • 135.6 lbs (+1lb from weekend)

My new training partner has been fabulous for me, consistent, motivating. We get up at 5:00a to run 2-4 miles. The goal is M-F plus weight training but so far we've only made it 4x/wk and I haven't been doing my weight training at all. I have been doing better diet wise up until yesterday when I went out of town for work & indulged in McDs for lunch

  • Do you have room for one more? I have been a sporadic poster at best but would love to support and get support with losing post baby weight. I am down 3 lbs last week. Have been using the app "I track bites" on my phone to do the classic version of weight watchers as I have found that is about the only thing that has worked for me, jogging, and doing the 30 day shred DVD. Still up 30lbs from my pre-pregnant weight which can be really discouraging

  • Welcome @decembergirl1216.  I'm interested in "I track bites" .  I tried looking it up online, do you know if it's only for Iphones, or do they make an android version?  I'm doing Myfitness, but I'm not really feeling it and w.w has worked for me in the past, well the old plan did.  I don't care for the new plan.
  • Same for me, once weight watchers went to points plus I totally stalled out but had lost 60-70 lbs on the old plan. Try searching as itrackbites, all one word no spaces. From what I can tell they have an iphone and android app

  • @decembergirl1216, I found that once they changed the plan I was eating more points than I was food, it just didn't work for me.  Thanks for the tip.  Again welcome.  As I said to the new pp, everyone is welcome, we try to be as positive and uplifting as possible.  I try to do a post every Wed. and feel free to say as much or as little as you like and if you ever have a suggestion on a thread topic feel free to pm me.
