Almonds and almond milk. I swore by those.

I usually do about 1/4 apple juice to 3/4 water.  And I use the 100% juice with no added sweeteners.  I don't know that it has to be apple juice, but that is what seems the most palatable to me.  I tried cranberry and grape, and they didn't taste good (tasted like watered down juice) and the cranberry was too tart.

Oh, and I've done pineapple too, and it has been fine.  But you can use less pineapple than you do apple bc it's thicker.
