XP: Snuza

I was looking into this and saw there were 2 different models...the Go and the Halo. From what I can tell the only difference is the Halo tries to stimulate the baby before setting off an alarm, however it does this 3 times before an alarm goes off. I'm not really a fan of not being notified of my unresponsive baby for 45 seconds though.

Does anyone have either of these? What is your experience with them? Thanks!

We had the Go with DS2 and loved it.  I didn't care to wait for the Snuza to try to startle him, I figured I'd rather know if it was detecting movement right away.  We used it until around 10 months when he started preferring to sleep on his belly and it kept coming dislodged from his diaper and going off multiple times a night when it was just floating around his pajamas.

We have the Go and picked it over the Halo for this reason too. I loved it and will be using it for baby #2. I used it until DD was a year old, even once she started sleeping on her stomach I just secured it off to the side. I attached the rough side of Velcro to the battery door and that gripped the diaper so I very rarely had false alarms since it stayed in place.

I bought the snuza for #2. We didn't have it for DS but it would have been nice. I'm still going to wake up frequently to check on baby but it will be nice to know that if there really is a reason I will know.

We have the halo.. and I never even thought aobut the delay.. I loved it - and the few times that I forgot to turn it off (especially after nursing and then moving to more of a cosleep position) I'd feel or hear it vibrate and could get to it before waking up baby and husband.  I love hte idea of the rough side of velcro - we will be using it for baby #2.  I was a CRAZY mom and actually had the angel care too (still do) I got them both on deal - so when she started stomach sleeping I used that instead of the halo.

I am looking into one so I checked the manufacturer website and read the following

"If no abdominal movement is detected at all for a period of 15 seconds, Hero will vibrate gently. Often this vibration is enough to rouse the baby, and Hero will revert to monitoring mode. After three vibration/rouse incidents, the Rouse Warning will alert you to the fact that your baby's abdominal movements have stopped for 15 seconds on three occasions. If no further movement is detected for another 5 seconds, an alarm will sound to alert you."

I interpret this to mean that after 15 sec it will vibrate and if no movement for another 5 sec following the vibration an alarm will sound- so 20 sec of unresponsiveness and you are alerted.  If the baby does rouse/move after the vibration it monitors again but after 3 times of doing this lets you know that the movements are in and out.  If I'm interpreting that correctly does it still give you pause over this model?  Seems as though it's 20 sec of nothing = alarm vs the 45 you spoke of.
