Pregnant after IF

Successful FET after failed IVF with endometrial scrape/scratch?? (IF lurker) *loss mentioned*

Hi Ladies.  I am just looking for some hope, to see if anyone has had success in a situation like mine.

We just did IVF # 2 in April with an antagonist protocol, and did an endometrial scrape while on BCPs leading up to stims.  That IVF cycle was my first BFP ever but ended in a CP.  We have 2 frosties, and discussed with RE and are moving right into a FET.  RE did not recommend doing another endometrial scrape, and said there is no evidence for them with FETs.  I just can't get out of my mind that the scrape was what at least got the embryo to implant and that our chances won't be very good just doing the FET.  Both IVFs we transferred great embryos so that is not an issue.

Anyone with any success stories, insight, thoughts?
I appreciate it!

  • I just had my first IVF which was an FET because we were accepted into a Study. They did the Endometrial Scrape (horrible but I did hear that it helps increase your chances), we transferred two FET on 4/12... got my BFP on 4/18 with an HPT. See my siggy for details! I'm currently 7 weeks 1 day according to my last ultrasound they said I was a few days behind but we only have one baby in there, saw the yolk sac and heard the beautiful heartbeat 127bpm! Lots of thoughts and prayers for a sticky baby to you!

  • I didn't do IVF so I don't have much insight there.  I know my RE said they see more BFPs on cycles where they do endo biopsies/scrapes but I am not sure if that is true for FET cycles too.

Keeping everything crossed for you!  <3<3

I went through three unexplained failed IVF cycles with good embryos (including PGS normals) & always had a perfect lining & hormone levels. I am now nearly 31 weeks pregnant with twins after doing the endo scratch before my FET this round. There's no way to know if that was what did the trick, but I certainly don't think it can hurt! GL!!!

  • Thanks Ladies. I called my RE today and explained my worries.  He said that they actually have had to cancel several FETs at their clinic after endometrial scrape due to lining issues, and they feel it is related to the scrape so they are no longer doing them with FETs.  I guess I feel better about not doing it, but I am still worried the FET won't work.

@shelbeans82 Guess what? We had the EXACT same scenerio (except both mine were FETs)... We did a endometrial scratch and all kinds of other stuff. "Chemical" (I HATE that expression) And we literally did my next FET like 3 weeks later. I was a  nervous wreck wondering if the scratch is what worked for us but my RE said the benefits last up to 3 months. So covering 2 emrbyo transfers was no problem. Guess what? I got a VERY high positive beta yesterday! So, looks like he was right! (Especially since this was my FIFTH embryo transfer and 3 of them never even implanted at all). It's gonna be fine. Try not to stress about it. I think my RE was 100% right about the lasting effects. Hang in there girl!
