Maizey was born with darker eyes that have lightened up and are now blue. I'm assuming this is a temporary eye color because she is only 4 months old. My other 3 children were born with brown eyes that have stayed brown. I'm thinking since her eyes have lightened up maybe they will stay light? Has Anyone had any experience with baby's blue eyes turning brown? Her father is Spanish and Italian with very dominating traits so I wasn't really expecting her to have any color besides brown. My eyes are green and it would be nice if hers stayed light like mine.

I am interested to hear people's answers. My LO has blue eyes too and both DH and I have brown. I have read they can take up to a year to change color! I wonder how true that is.

Both our daughters were born with bright blue eyes (DH is brown, mine are hazel - both of our moms are blue) that darkened and I could tell they were going to be brown around 6ish weeks.  They kind of go through a grey before they make it to brown.  DD1 settled in with hazel like mine.  We'll see how dark DD2 gets.

Dd's were crazy bright blue at birth and stayed blue. Ds's are sometimes blue and sometimes a cloudy grey so I'm not sure which direction he will go. Mine are blue and dh's are brown.

Both DSs were born with dark blue eyes. Both of them have lightened up. Although DS2 are not as light as DS1 but that I'm sure will take time. DH has blue eyes mine are hazel. I'm hoping ds2 gets my hazel eyes.

Mine are hazel. FI has dark brown. DS1 has dark brown (born with and stayed). LO's are a dark grey blue.

I'm far from finding out her true color since she's only 6 weeks old. I'm gonna put my money on blue or green though.

BUT! My SIL & her husband both have dark brown hair, and brown eyes. Their little boy is 6 months old and is the blondest, most blue eyed little thing! They can only trace blue eyes back to one grandpa (from living memory.) So basically, genetics are wack!

I know I heard somewhere that if they lighten from birth, then there's a good chance they will stay light. Not sure if that's true though!

DS had grayish eyes that looked brown around nine months. DD has blue eyes. I'm assuming they will turn brown bc DH and I both have brown eyes. We have some blue eyes in our families though, so we will have to wait and see!

Julian's eyes are like Maizey's - they were a very dark grey when he was born and at six weeks are now a deep blue. Both of us have blue eyes so I imagine they will continue to lighten.

LO has blue-grey eyes at 3 months, some days they look very blue, others not so much. One eye has a brownish patch in it now though so they are probably changing. I guess only time will tell...

DH and I both have brown eyes and DH is half white and half asian. Both of our dads have blue/green eyes. DS1 was born with black eyes and they are still such dark brown I can barely detect his pupils.

DD had dark eyes when born that we could tell were going to be brown pretty much from the start. DS's eyes will likely settle in the blue/green/hazel side.

I'm curious to see how Skylee's eyes will end up. DH has hazel eyes, I have aqua blue eyes. Right now hers are a dark blue....I'm kinda hoping she gets my eyes

DS was born with blonde hair and dark slate grey eyes and they are have lightened to a deep blue now at. 5 weeks. Im hoping they continue to lighten. DH is blonde/blue eyes and I'm brown hair brown eyes. I'm hoping he stays light hair light eyes but we'll just have to wait and see.

My birthdaughter was born with blue eyes, but they've turned brown. (Her biological father had brown eyes.) Elias was born with dark blue eyes, and they've lightened up a bit. I have darkish blue eyes, and DH has green eyes. I was hoping Elias would have my dad's family's eyes -- they are 100% Scandinavian, and they all have piercing ice blue eyes! My blue eyes are dark and lame

DH has blue eyes (both parents blue) and mine are brown (one parent with brown and one with green).

Both kids were born with dark blue eyes.  DD's were blue by 4 months, DS's are already blue.

I have blue/green eyes with the orange bit. hubs has DARK DARK brown.

J was born with slate grey and they have darkened to a more brown/grey mix. she will likely have brown eyes

I have green eyes and DH has blue, so our kids will all have light eyes. DS1 has blue, and right now the twins have slate grey/blue eyes. I'm hoping at least one of them ends up with my eyes!

Lo's eyes are blue... All 3 of his brothers had dark grey eyes that turned brown the first few weeks. Both DH and I have brown eyes.
