OT- Dinnertime

How many hours before bedtime does your LO eat dinner?  DS has been napping later in the afternoon, which has led to an earlier lunch and lately he wants an earlier dinner, too.  He's been STTN awhile now, but I still have the mentality of "fill them up before bed for less MOTN wakeups."

We eat dinner around 6:30, and E is usually in bed around 7:30.  So that's 30 minutes for dinner, 30 minutes for bedtime routine.  I always wondered if I was sending her to bed too close to dinner time.  (We do wake her up at 6 am though, so staying up later isn't an option.)

I've read tha testing too close to bedtime actually disrupts sleep, at least in grown ups. My kid doesn't eat so tots a moot point.

We start dinner usually between 6:30 and 7 and finish between 7 and 7:30. DD goes to bed at 8 (sleeps until 7). She will often nap until 4 or 5 in the afternoon and usually has a snack after nap to cut down on her asking for food every 20 minutes until dinner.

We usually eat dinner b/n 5:30 and 6:00. DS goes to sleep b/n 7:30 and 8:00. Sometimes he gets a small snack/dessert after supper, but I have to be careful b/c he turns into a grazer with the slightest encouragement.

Dinner at 5:30 or 6. Nurse at 7:30 or 8. Bedtime 1/2 hour later.

DS has been wanting to eat at 3:30-4:00 lately.  He goes to bed at 7:00. He's not interested in having a snack before dinner.  He wants a whole meal!  Maybe I'll just start giving him a snack an hour or so before bed if he seems interested.  That's what I did tonight and it seemed to work.
