Lupron question

Hi ladies,

So, I've never officially intro'd, because honestly I never know quite what to say.  Most of my pertinent info is in my siggy, but I'm 34, DH is 33, and we're prepping for our first FET from IVF #2 in March. 

I just started my 10 units subq Lupron last night (I was supposed to start on saturday, but Quest labs MASSIVELY screwed up my blood work.) But anyway. I injected around 8pm, and then around 4am, I woke up in severe pain. My entire pelvis and the tops of my thighs felt like they were on fire. Now, I have an 19-year history of endometriosis. When I'm not on the pill, I rupture a cyst every damned month. So I'm definitely accustomed to a certain amount of pain. But this was very different, and I'm having a terrible time getting it under control. 

I went to my OBGYN last week so he could make sure I didn't have any endometriomas before started prep, and we learned then that I had a lot of free fluid and blood around my uterus, as well as the usual multiple small cysts. 

This pain didn't feel like a typical rupture... honestly, it was worse. So my question is, has anyone else ever experienced this? Severe pelvic pain following Lupron injection? Google seems to be somewhat hazy on whether or not this is a side effect. I do have a call into my doctor, but I haven't heard back yet.

As a side note: I've been dirty-lurking here since last September, and I just wanted to wish everyone good luck in their upcoming cycles. It's always so wonderful to see someone graduate from this board.

Yikes! No idea, but I hope it's nothing serious. Let us know what the doc says! ((hugs))

Thanks, I appreciate it. I really wish he'd call me back... I'm really miserable.

I didn't have Lupron during Stims but I did use it monthly 3mths before. I had horrible joint pain. Not burning sensation but pain. Hips & elbow mostly. It did eventually calm but even now I have residual hip pain. Good luck at the docs!

I hope that your doctor calls you back.  It seems like an odd side effect, particularly after one dose, but anything is possible.

My RE's office finally called; she said it was more likely endo or cyst-related, and the timing was just a coincidence. She told me to go to the ER if it doesn't improve (my RE is out of state, so they can't see me). I'm going to give it until tomorrow morning, which is my usual MO for this kind of thing.

We'll see how things go after the second shot tonight. Thanks for the advice, everyone, I appreciate it.

I've heard of people having an allergic reaction to lupron and taking Benadryl nightly with the shot. I'm not sure that would cause the severe pain though. I'm sorry you are dealing with that!FX that it goes away soon!
