Multiple dreams about having a miscarriage. :(

The past two nights I have had very vivid dreams about losing the baby. They are very graphic and gory. Is anyone else having nightmares? I know it's just a dream but it is seriously freaking me out.

  • How terrible! I've had a few. Very vivid, but not really gory. It's so disturbing :( Hope they stop soon!

  • I had many dreams about losing the baby at first, haven't had any in about a month. Guess once I made it to 12 weeks I wasn't so nervous about losing I hoe they stop for you soon!
  • I've had these as well as some more silly ones. Remember that it's most likely not an indication of how your pregnancy is progressing but maybe just because of some anxiety and hormones etc. I dreamt that I gave birth to a grown man the other night. I hope they stop soon for you.
  • Yep! I've been having those too. I hope they go away once I hear the heartbeat again.

  • I have had three different dreams about waking up and blood being in the sheets or while I go to the bathroom. I have had miscarriages so I just associated it with me worrying all the time...I have 12 week appointment in two days so I'm hoping i will stop worrying after that :) good luck!
  • Thank you guys for your comments! It makes me feel better than I am not the only one. I have a doppler so I listen to the baby every other day. Not sure why my brain likes to freak me out while I am sleeping!

  • Those would scare me, too. I haven't had any miscarriage dreams, or rather nightmares. But I have had nightmares that horrible things have happened to DS1 and DS2. I keep waking up in the middle of the night shaking and bawling. I wish they would stop.

I've had some of those dreams, especially in the beginning. I'm so sorry  :(. They suck and are scary as hell! I hope your dreams stop soon. ((hugs))

  • Sorry to hear it. I had one and then recently I had one where I gave birth to a cat. So I think weird dreams can be just that sometimes. I hope yours stop. Hoping for a happy and healthy remainder for us both!

I'm so sorry you're having these dreams and I hope that instead of bad vivid dreams, you get some really happy ones soon!  Maybe it's just your brain's way of dealing with your stress during the day about how the baby is doing, but I hope it stops for you soon!!

  • I haven't had any this pregnancy but I am much more relaxed than I was with my last one. I had gory miscarriage dreams up until the day I had him, pretty much. It helped to listen to some relaxing music and meditate on happy thoughts before bed so I wouldn't have fears/stresses as prevalent in my mind before sleep.

  • I had one where I gave birth in my bed while sleeping. The baby was 35 weeks and just laying between my legs, umbilical cord still attached. I was just holding it and walking around with it trying to decide if we should cut it or not. Woke up terrified to find my cat sleeping between my legs! It was so weird.
  • I've had a horrible dream about losing the baby that was very vivid and disturbing, so much so I won't even describe it on this thread and put other people through hearing it. Just know you are not alone. Paranoid pregnancy brain let me entertain the idea that it was a sign I was going to miscarry but I shoved that thought out as quick as I could. Had my NT Scan yesterday and baby is doing great, strong heartbeat and was kicking up a storm!
