Cloth Diapering

Intro and Question about Washing Kawaii Diapers

This is my first time posting here.  We have been cloth diapering our 15 month old for almost 6 months now.  We use mostly bumGenius pocket diapers and also some covers with inserts and flats.

I just got a free Kawaii pocket diaper and noticed that it says to wash on warm.  I have been washing all my diapers on hot, but don't want to ruin the Kawaii diaper.  I know that it is made of TPU, whereas my other diapers are made from PUL, which I am guessing is why they have different wash instructions.  For those of you using Kawaii diapers, do you wash them on warm or hot?  If you wash on hot, how well do they hold up?  TIA!

I don't have any Kawaii, but I have RaRs and Grovia that are both made of TPU.  I wash on hot and have been for the last 18 months.  All my TPU diapers are fine.  I would think your diapers would not get clean if you washed on warm instead of hot.

  • Yeah...I wash all my kawaii diapers on hot as well along with all my other diapers.

  • I never wash my waterproof stuff on hot and my dipes get clean just fine.
  • I've been using my Kawaii diapers for about 8 or 9 months now, washing on hot, and haven't had any issues.

  • I for one wish they'd give a temp range instead since how hot/warm the water temp is is really subjective. For example, my dh complains my dishwater is scalding hot, yet to me it's just right for sticking my hands in to wash dishes.

  • Thanks everyone.  Glad to hear that they hold up well on hot!
