Today I went to the doctor for my 10 week check-up, only to find my baby didn't have a heartbeat. The heartbeat was there at 6 weeks and the baby had grown to the size it was supposed to be by 10 weeks. I was careful, I ditched the coffee (which I was borderline addicted to) I changed my diet, lightened my physical load at work and everything. The doctor told me something must have been wrong with the baby on a chromosome level, and this was mother nature's way of dealing with it. She said I could have been sitting at home with my feet up all day and this still could have happened. Exactly what kind of miscarriage is this? I know a DNC is to remove the baby is recommended, but what happens next? Has anyone else had a loss like this? What should I expect from my body? I'm just so hurt, heartbroken and confused right now. One of my best friends is 5 months pregnant with her third child and all I feel is jealousy for her. Her first two pregnancies she smoked, drank coffee, and ate whatever she wanted and her kids came out totally healthy. I call myself being careful and lose my first child 10 weeks in. I don't really know too many people who suffered a loss so I don't really have anywhere else to turn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
