Last night I fed my 13 mo DD apples with pb (she has had apples countless times and peanut butter 3-4 times). She wasn't wearing a shirt and dribbled a good bit of the juice on her belly, which broke out in hives, along with the area around her mouth and her eye where she rubbed it with her hand. She didn't have any breathing difficulty, thank God. We gave her Benadryl and all was well.
My question/vent is that when I called the doctor today, the nurse I spoke with acted like it was nbd...basically said mention it to the doctor at her next well baby visit (in 2 mo) and avoid nuts until then. I feel like they should be taking a more proactive approach (and I will push for that), but then I wondered if I was just overreacting?
For those moms with allergy experience, would you wait or would you push to test sooner?
