Postpartum bleeding

How long did you bleed for after giving birth? The nurse at the hospital told me it could be up to 6 weeks, but she almost seemed like that was a worst-case-scenario thing. I'm almost 4 weeks postpartum and still bleeding lightly, so I'm wondering what is the average length of time that bleeding occurs.

I had an ECS with DD1 and bleed for 13wks. Still bleeding now after DD2 at 4 wks. I thought it was tapering off last week but 2 days ago it started back up bright red again.

With my first, bled until about 4 weeks and had another week or two of spotting. I am 3 weeks pp now and have had occasional light spotting for the past few days (I still wear a pad so I don't get surprised) but regular bleeding stopped a few days ago.

I'm very similar. 4 weeks pp today. Last Monday I switched to liners, then Friday evening started bright red bleeding (not a ton, but enough to go back to a pad...) no crazy physical activity that day, not sure what brought it on. But I'm back to liners today.

Still bleeding at exactly 3 weeks. After the first couple of days it has been very light though. I only have to change pads like 3 times a day, and even then there's not very much. It's just enough to be annoying though!

I bled enough for a light pad for like 10 days and then liners til about four weeks PP. I had a csection.

I had a c-section and bled pretty moderate for 10 days, then had light bleeding for another 2 weeks. I finally stopped right around 4 weeks PP.

Exactly the same for me. I'm 4w pp today and it had tapered off to almost nothing, then this weekend I had two days of (light-ish) bright red bleeding. No increase in physical activity. Back to almost nothing today.

I'm going to blame hormonal freakouts.

Period like bleeding for 3-4 days.  Very light bleeding for maybe a week after that.  Spotting for another week.

I'm 4wks pp today and still have light to medium bleeding. Some days brown, some days red.

I bled for 6 wks with my daughter.

Can I just say I'm so tired of wearing a pad? They are so gross. I miss tampons!

3 weeks and I bleed randomly. It might be coincidental but stress seems to bring it on, not physical activity. If I get worried or upset about something I get crampy immediately and bleed a little. My uterus must be really emotional.

I spotted the whole 4th week and now just after 5 weeks, it has stopped...I think! I'm not wearing any of my good underwear!!

With DS I bled for a little over 6 weeks pretty heavy. This time with DD I'm still bleeding 2 weeks pp but its very light I can get by with a pantyliner.

5 weeks PP tomorrow. No bleeding at all today, could it finally be done?!

I had real blood for 3 days PP, scant orange spotting for 6 days after that, yellow discharge for 5 days, and then totally dry for the past 2 weeks. I had a C-section.

I had a c-section, bled for 4-5 days and then liners for 2-3 days. I was then completely dry for 2 weeks. I've been randomly spotting since. I'll go days with nothing and then one small gush randomly or spotting for a day. It's annoying.

I had pretty heavy bleeding the first 2 weeks, I think I was overdoing it. I took it easy all last week and it mostly stopped. Now I have brown spotting and occ dark red tiny gushes, mostly on the toliet. I was getting freaked at 2wk pp with red bleeding, but resting a LOT really was a game changer for me.

Almost 5 weeks and completely done bleeding, it stopped a few days ago (no spotting either). 

 With my first, I bled/spotted for 7 weeks.

I'm 2 1/2 weeks pp and my bleeding has slowed to very very light and turning brown- the first week it started to slow and then I did too much one day and it started heavy again and bright red. I've been taking it easy and just resting and it's seemed to help!

I stopped at 3/4 weeks but I got the depo shot a week 4 and started bleeding again, I'm on week 6. Not sure if it's pp or the shot that is making me bleed now.

With my first i had a vaginal birth and for sure bled for 5 weeks cuz I remember I was stil bleeding when I had to go back to school. This time I had a c section and have had lighter bleeding and currently just spotting or bleeding if I overdue it

Small amount of spotting nearly 3 weeks pp I can't wait for the day I can go pad free

This pregnancy has been different. I bled normal the first 3-5 days then it would skip a few days and I would bleed for a day, but never enough to fill 1 pad in a day. Now I am doing liners and I go through 2 a day.  I am 4wks pp. With DD1 I stopped bleeding at 3 weeks, but it was consistent the entire time.
