hi, everyone. been lurking all over thebump for some time and discovered this board last night. as I plan on being a working mama, I thought I'd make an effort to get settled. I love all of the support/suggestions/encouragement I see here.

my husband and I have been married for a year now (1st anniversary coming up in a couple weeks!) and we're expecting our first in september. we're thrilled about the upcoming changes and are relishing in our good fortune, but life has a funny way of dishing out good with bad. 

shortly after getting pregnant, I lost my job (lost/left, it's a long story that I'm pretty embarrassed about and would rather not delve into the details of). I'm two online classes away from finishing my bachelors degree and fervently job hunting. obviously, being 5 months pregnant complicates things. in addition, we are already feeling the pressure of living off of one income. 

apologies for the sob-story, not looking for pity!! 

anyway, I look forward to being a more active member and getting to know some of you better!
