Traveling to Orlando- stroller reco.

Hi, my family will be traveling to Orlando in a couple of weeks and I wanted to see if anyone had any experience traveling through the parks with a stroller. We have a baby jogger city mini gt, and will be visiting Disney and Sea Workd. I am a bit hesitant to bring that because we will have to leave it unattended a bit when we go on rides, eat, etc. I was going to purchase a second stroller anyway and was looking into the Uppababy Gluxe. Would it be better to have a lightweight stroller like this? Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Traveling to Orlando- stroller reco.

  • We rented a stroller through Kingdom Strollers and it was delivered directly to our resort and all I had to do was leave it at the concierge desk when we checked out.  It was $60 for the entire week and we rented a Baby Jogger City Elite.  We drove down but didn't want to waste space with our stroller...I would happily rent again.  I purchased the additional insurance on it because if it's lost, stolen or damaged they simply bring you a new stroller right away.  I wasn't at all worried about leaving it when we went on rides (and I wouldn't have been worried leaving our own City Mini had we brought it).  There are a ton of stroller rental companies in Orlando and one of them is usually running some sort of special.

We were just there last week. We went to Target in Orlando when we got there and bought a cheap umbrella stroller (less than $30), and then left it at the condo we were staying at when we left. It was the cheapest option for us. Like pp said, Kingdom Stroller was also recommended to us.

There are so many strollers parked everywhere in the parks. We were never worried about someone taking our stroller, and I think that would hold true even if it was a more expensive stroller. Tons of Baby Joggers and BOBs all over the place.

Have a great trip! We already want to go back. :)

  • I've been to Disney World three times with my City Mini. Never had a single problem. There are more expensive strollers left at the rides too. I honestly wouldn't worry about it and waste money on renting or buying another.

This. There are so many strollers, you should be fine. Just make it easy to find yours among the sea of strollers!

I was skeptical at first but had no issues leaving my stroller last year. Just went again in January and rented from Kingdom strollers! So convenient they drop it off at hotel for you and pick it up.

I've taken my city mini to Disney twice and never had any problems leaving it unattended or gate checking it.
  • We took our Maclaren (umbrella stroller) because it was lighter to pack up, etc.  I would do a lighter stroller or take the advice above and rent (great idea)!
  • We traveler with our Britax BReady in January and while it was big, it was good to have a comfy space for DD and a big under belly basket to jam all our crap into.

I ended up selling my BReady and we will bring our City Mini Elite with us - easy, quick fold and comfy for DD.
