How long before you POAS?

Sorry if this has been previously asked and answered, but I was wondering how long you guys (at least try to) wait after AF's due before you POAS. I'm typically due for AF between CD 27-29. Today is day 29 so I was curious if I should bother testing now or waiting a few days. I'd love your thoughts. Thanks!

I would say if you are very regular you could go ahead and test. I got a positive test in Jan 4 days before AF was due. I tested because my body was acting differently than it did normally.

I will always wait until at least 2 days late because sometimes I ovulate late and I hate wasting FRER.  Those suckers are expensive.  Also, getting a BFN depresses me a little.

I test frequently, but I don't really advise it.  It is expensive and depressing!  I got my first positive test at 10 dpo, however, so I usually start somewhere around there.

I've always been an early tester (10dpo), and then test up until after a Very dark line or AF... Best wishes!

I would wait a few days because this is your first AF since you stopped BC correct. Your cycles could be off for a little but so if I were you I would wait. I would rather get AF late then see a BFN.
But it would be kinda awesome if you are KU. Good luck mama

That's exactly what I was thinking. Yes it's my first month off BC, so I figured it's my body re-adjusting to being normal. I will probably wait until Wednesday to text (I was going to say Friday, but who am I kidding?). I would be so happy with a BFP, but that would really make my trip to wine country in 2 weeks suck.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Yes it's my first month off BC, so I figured it's my body re-adjusting to being normal. I start testing at 10DPO because I have no patience and I got some cheap Wondfo HPTs, so I didn't feel like I was wasting money. If you can wait, then I would wait.

Are you going to Napa or Sonoma? I would recommend going to wineries in Sonoma because they are less busy and pretentious. Also, the tasting fees are waived more often if you buy bottles. Napa is so expensive!

@MamaBear904 I am on CD27 and am also wondering when to POAS! I hope you get a BFP!
I also agree with @URMySunshine77 - I live in Santa Rosa which is about 30 minutes from Sonoma and there are some great wineries there, as well as further up north in Healdsburg. 
Hope you have a great time. The weather has been great up here. Supposed to be in the 90's this week!

I also started on cheap tests at 10 dpo but I would hold off as long as you can.

I start 10dpo usually.. By day of af definitely but I have cheapies from ebay . You can also get cheapies from walmart called first signal for .88 cents they're very accurate and picked up several women I know at 10 dpo:) good luck...rooting for you!

@URMySunshine77and @tat2mami, thanks for the suggestions! We are staying in Calistoga instead of Napa because we prefer something a little less touristy. We're going to rent bikes and bike around to the different wineries in that area. We are, however, going to do the Napa Wine Train. We have heard mixed reviews and have gone in with certain expectations so I do not think we will be disappointed. On our way back to SF, we are stopping at Russian River Brewing (a must-do for my husband, the beer-geek). 

As for San Francisco, we are staying at Hotel Nikko and plan on doing the typical fishermans wharf, golden gate - type thing, but I am looking over to a picnic I have planned for the Muir woods. 12 days to go and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll pick up a few cheapies from amazon and use my prime acct to get 2 day shipping I'll test on Wednesday when they come in and it will force me to wait at least 2 more days!

I'm a "Crazy-Pee-on-a-Stick" Lady, so I start 5 days before AF is due. I save money only when AF is early. I buy store brand to try and stay out of the poor house.  I try to look at BFNs as a green light to have a beer or dye my hair.

No AF yet (my sticks are on order and will arrive tomorrow). But I do get a random serious headache right before I get my period (which I have today) so I'm pretty sure I'll get AF tomorrow.

@MamaBear904 - Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa? That place is amazing! I've been downtown when they feature on of their beers and the line is blocks long! I'm sure your DH will enjoy it!!

UPDATE: Still no AF, but I tested today and it was a BFN. So I fully expect AF tomorrow. I'm not too sad about that. I was not expecting anything this month and now I know I can fully enjoy my upcoming trip!!!

In the past, I always started testing around 10dpo.  I typically have a 12-14 day luteal phase.  With both of my pregnancies I got a BFP at 10dpo.  Since losing #2, I'm now waiting until at least 12 dpo to test.  I should really wait until at least 14dpo, cuz I hate seeing BFN month after month.
