toddler birthday question- timing

so, the place we want to have Tru's party is only available on the date we need from 4:30 til 6:30. i was with another toddler mom friend yesterday and she said that is great b/c it will be after naptime for everyone, they'll play, eat pizza for dinner and then be totally exhausted just in time for bath and bedtime. sounded great but now i am worried. i know the schedule would work for Truitt but am worried about his friends... WDYT?

I think it sounds perfect. I currently have Natalie's party scheduled for 1pm, but I think she is transitioning to 1 nap, so 1pm would not work. Most of her "friends" (like from playgroup) are older and are already down to 1 nap, so that time may not work for them either. I think I am going to change it to 3:30 or 4. After everyone's naps, even if Natalie is still on 2 naps at that time.

I think 4:30 is perfect.... even if naps run late, 4:30 should still be good.

Sounds like a great time, E's school schedules naps from 12-2 and at home when we're off-schedule she'd still be up by then.

at this point it seems like parties have to be early morning or late afternoon.  Late afternoon has worked great at the last few parties we've been to.

I agree.  And Joe would be winding down but 4:30 is perfect for an "activity" because it keeps him busy without us trying to find something for him to get into.  Ya know?
