GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day?

Week/Fruit: 39/ watermelon

How are you feeling? Big. I had some swelling last night, but luckily it seems to have gone down this morning.

Appointments/Updates? At my appointment last Thursday, I hadn't made any progress from the week before--still just a "fingertip" dilated and 25% effaced. Boo hiss.

Rants/Raves: Rave: DH received his Ph.D. last night! Wohoo for graduation! Rant: I was soooo uncomfortable sitting in the tiny little chair for 2.5 hours at DH's graduation. I got horribly swollen, but it was still worth it!

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? Both my mother and DH's mom came down to our place to attend DH's graduation. We went out for a celebratory Mother's Day/graduation lunch.

Rants/Raves:  DH bought me mini Kit-Kats Stupid foot/ankle swelling is being stubborn

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? Slept in, snuggled on the couch with DD and DH while watching a movie, went to the park, got ice cream in town, and then spent the evening in the hospital in L&D getting checked for a kidney infection- which I have. So 3/4 of the day was great!

Week/Fruit: 40/jackfruit (I thought that was the same as durian?  guess not.)

How are you feeling?  Large, puffy, but actually more ok than a week or two ago most of the time.

Appointments/Updates?  My next appointment is Thursday. 

Rants/Raves:  teeny rant: I called my mom for mother's day, and she answered in a panic "Are you in labor?!"  Also, my sister calls pretty much every day to ask if I'm planning to have the baby today or not (yup, because that's exactly how it works) and when I told her I had an appointment last Friday she said she wished they would have to keep me there and then I'd have the baby.  Terrifying.  After my appointment, safe at home again, I called her and told her how scary it is to think of "they have to keep you there" situations and I think she understood, and I think I managed to say it in a way that she didn't feel terrible or defensive.

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day?  Delicious Asian food mostly.  DH made an Indian curry for lunch, and then we got Thai takeout for dinner.

Week/Fruit: 40/Jack Fruit

How are you feeling? Overall okay, most very emotional. All this waiting is really wearing on me. Even though today is my due date, I feel like with my mom constantly calling to "check in" and my FIL texting my husband daily that somehow there is all this pressure that I haven't delivered the baby yet. It's just stressful.

I am especially bummed because after my first cervical check I was already 3 cm and I had lots of contractions and cramping over that weekend. There were a couple nights I was timing things and thought I was going to go into labour. But since my last check (still at 3 cm) I feel LESS like I am going to go into labour.

Appointments/Updates? My 40 week appointment is Thursday, I hope I don't need it.

Rant: My mom is driving me insane with constantly calling me. She says it's just to see how I'm doing, but since it's at least every-other-day I know it's so that she can be the first know I'm in labour. It really bugs me that she can't just wait until I get to call her and share the exciting news. So if she calls and I am in labour, but we haven't gone to the hospital yet, I plan on lying and telling her I'm fine. My husband and I have decided we will tell HIS parents first. They are behaving way better.

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day?

I did not celebrate mother's day, I was kind of bummed out yesterday. I think because of all the pressure from everyone else, it just felt like a whole day reminder that my little guy isn't here yet

My husband did a good job of keeping my busy and distracted most of the day because he knew how I was feeling.

How are you feeling? Lots of pressure still trying to get over my allergy attack from this weather. Bleh but who isn't these days?

Appointments/Updates? Tomorrow

Rants/Raves: RANT I'm tired of being asked every morning by sisters "no baby yet?" "When is she going to come?" "Is the head out yet" they are getting as annoying as the strangers who come up to me asking me when I'm due. I hide in my house for this reason not I feel like I need to hide in my room!

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? My Mother's Day started off very nice my son made me breakfast in bed and we payed around watching natgeo wild. Than everyone started coming over so I retreated to my room I'm unsocial and can't stand my sisters kids so hubby stayed couped up with me until I was ready to join the madness. But overall I was very much in love and blessed to have my son and hubby!

Rants/Raves:

Rant: the tree service for cutting our cable line which leads to no internet for a week. Lowes and the insurance companies for jacking around our. Vehicle so we have to continue to wait for it. Moron paint worker who didn't hammer down the lid to the gallon on paint that ruined the interior of my husbands truck.

Rave: my mil for giving me frequent toddler breaks.

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? In bed with contractions that weren't severe enough to do anything about.

Week/Fruit: Kaelyn is 16 days old


How are you feeling? Great. A little tired. She's sleeping in 2-3 hour shifts.


Appointments/Updates? 2 week was this morning. 9lb 1oz and 21in long.


Rants/Raves: DH is starting to slack off. He only woke up once this weekend to get her. Momma was tired!


GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? Big family dinner on Saturday. Relaxed on Sunday.

Week/Fruit: 38/? something huge whatever it is

How are you feeling? Really regretting my 2nd tri rookie enthusiasm for working until due date.

Appointments/Updates? I decided to be brave & allow a cervical check at my 38 week appointment on Friday. It didn't hurt at all and I didn't have spotting. I have no doubt it hurts like hell for a lot ladies, I thought for sure I'd be one of them...but might as well throw my good experience out there for anyone who is scared of them like I was. Anyways, everything is closed up tight & high, just like I figured.

Rants/Raves: = I will try to keep this as short as possible but probably can't. My mom...I am being induced on the 23/24 and she made plans for that weekend. She thought my induction date was 5/26 (Monday). Whether it was the 23rd or the 26th, why in god's name would you make plans that close to the due date of your first grandchild? And these aren't plans with friends that can be changed if something comes up; she promised her boss she would help with an event and she claims she can't get out of it. Even after finding out the baby will here that weekend, she wasn't even going to ask her boss. She also thought that when I said I only wanted my husband in the room for the birth, that I meant I didn't want her at the hospital at all. It's borderline offensive to me that she would even infer that. And she's stupid for not asking for clarification, and just thinking for months that I didn't want her at the hospital. Ugh, whatever the fuck ever. Good thing there are plenty of other people and other grandparents who are excited about this baby. = Henry's room is almost done, just needs curtains, a couple more pieces of framed art & a crib! I also found two potential daycares. Both are Montessori, one is quite a bit pricier than the other but I LOVED it. The other one seemed a little rundown but staff came off as caring & committed. I still want the nicer one but I've got to bring hubs back in a few weeks for a final evaluation. I know looks aren't everything...

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? My husband gave me an emerald & diamond ring! I was not expecting jewelry. He has never purchased jewelry for me aside from my engagement ring, so it was really touching that he went & picked something out. Everybody really made me feel like a mom yesterday, it was nice. It truly felt like my first Mother's Day, not an "almost" Mother's Day.

Week/Fruit: 41.....YES 41!!!! Jackfruit, still

How are you feeling? Irritated, frustrated, annoyed, so incredibly helpless

Appointments/Updates? Just had my 41 week appointment yesterday. Good news is I got my bloody show on Sunday, which continued on to today. I was only 1cm & 25% effaced from 37-40 wks, but yesterday I was finally at 2cm and 60-70% effaced so looks like labor is slowly starting to start. I woke up to contractions on Monday and they are still continuing throughout today. My OB has me scheduled for an induction on Thursday evening if I don't go into active labor on my own by then.

Rants/Raves: Rants, too many to list. I can't think of a single rave right now. I'm seriously in just one of those moods.

GTKY: How did you celebrate Mother's Day? We went to church, and got more of the baby's stuff ready. It was also just nice to relax for one last weekend.
