How was your night?

Describe your night here!

I put Leo down at 7:30, nursed at 12:30, 3:30, 5:30 and up for the day with my 2.5 year old at 6:30. Overall not too bad! I'll take it! He's generally up every 3 hours and nursed/changed and goes back down easily.

Fed Max at 10pm, I went to bed & DH stayed up with Max. Got up at 1:45 to feed, DH went to bed. Usually I would go back to bed when Max is done, but he was a little fussy last night (due to crazy thunderstorms, I think). At about 3:00 the power went out, which means the sub pump doesn't work so we need to bail it out by hand or else the basement floods. So I had to wake up DH to take care of that - felt so bad! We all went back to sleep, around 4 am, and now I'm up again at 6 for feeding. We would have had a better night if it wasn't for stupid Armageddon happening outside.

  • Pretty good! Nursed at 9 and went to sleep. DH gave her a bottle of pumped milk at midnight and she was up at 4 and then 7:30 to nurse. We're up for the day now! Not a bad night at all.
  • Elise went to bed at 7:30pm. Woke up just to eat at 12:30 and 4. My almost 3 year old got up for the day at 5am, and Elise was up for the day at 6:30am. Pretty good night for a two week old!

Fed her at 8, went to bed at 9, up at: 11:15, 1:30, 3:15, 4:40, 5:50, and up for the day with DD1 at 6:15. So 6 hours of sleep over a 9hr period- not bad, except it was in 4 chunks of no more than an hour & 45 min.

  • His sleep the first part of the night is really uneven. Fell asleep at 8 but woke immediately when DH put him down, so the next two hours were spent just getting him to stay asleep in his bed. Once he was down it was pretty good- wake ups at 3:15, 6:30, and 8am.

The toddler on the other hand was awake from 5-6 wanting to nurse, be rocked, sung to, back rubs...so not a great night overall.

Sophia gave me a 5 hr stretch last night for the first time ever! She fed off and on from 10:30-12:30, never off the boob for more than 15 min. Then cuddled on DH for an hr while I napped. Then nursed again from 2-3, and then bam - 5 hrs of uninterrupted sleep! Hallelujah :)

  • Baby slept 7pm-3am, and 3:30-6am. DS was up a few times with molar teething pain. DD was only up once to pee. A good night for us. How is it that baby sleeps better than my toddlers?!

  • Well, last night was like a dream and both kids were sound asleep by 9:00 so I foolishly stayed up till 1:00 watching TV with DH instead of sleeping when I could. DD1 showed up in our room at 4:00 a.m. saying she wanted to play, kept me up for about 30 minutes, then the baby woke up to nurse for her second and third times. At 6:30 DH's alarm went off and he decided he wanted some nooky before work. I played dead but it didn't work and he ended up with a BJ, then DD2 woke up at 7:00 and DD1 a few minutes later. I am DYING now and about to pop an ibuprofen washed down with some black coffee.

  • DD nursed non-stop yesterday afternoon/evening and then made up for it last night by sleeping for 6 hours! So I fed her at 2 am and then again at 5:30. It is the longest stretch I have slept in at least 4 months thanks to my PG insomnia and constant bathroom trips.

The only problem was my boobs were killing me by the time she did wake up to eat!

Well, Saturday night into Sunday he only woke up once. That was the first time he had ever done that and I was excited! But he made up for last night by waking up 4 times. 4!! And then he was a fussy gus for two of them and would hardly go back to sleep. I am very tired today.

Had our first baby, Samuel Robert, on April 17, 2014!

  • Nursed him at 9:00 and put him down he woke at 2:00 nursed went right back down, up for the day at 6:00 and to nurse again. At only 5 weeks old I call waking once a huge win!
  • We made progress last night! Rather than sleeping on the couch, I started feeding Elise at 9pm in the nursery. I got her down by 10:30 pm by myself and snuck in a shower (eee!). Fed her again at 11:15, and then she slept in her bassinet for the first time until 2:45 am. After two feedings and diaper changes, I got her back down until 6:15 am, nursed, and then snoozed in bed with her for another hour! All together, around 5 hours of sleep - Loooove it!!!
  • E went down at 8, woke up to nurse at 2:30 and 5:30. I woke up at 7:30 to get the kindergartner And 3rd grader ready for school. Both times she got up to eat, she was back in bed within 40 minutes. No complaints!!!!

  • Ummm.... awesome. Best yet! I fed him at 9pm then went to bed. I woke up at 5.19am FREAKED THE EFF OUT because he hadn't woken up yet, realized my life was in danger due to risk of exploding boobs so then stood over him willing him to wake up so I could feed him. He finally did at 6.05am and is currently kicking on his blanket looking at the ceiling fan.

He probably had about 11ozs from my boobs this morning so I am surprised he can even move right now. :p

Nursed at 10, didn't go to sleep until 11:15. Nursed at 2, and 5-didn't go to sleep until 6:15 then DHs alarm went off ten min later and ds woke up. Nursed again at 7:30 because dsd came in and woke both of us up. Ahhh!!!! Fell back asleep at 8, and here we are now, nursing again and me longing for a cup of coffee if only I could go get it.

Oh! And at the 5 feeding, he fell asleep after a GIANT spit up all on my chest and in a pool between my boobs in my tank top. Poor baby :( I hate when he does that.
  • DS was in bed by 10 and DD woke up when SO put her in the bassinet. I changed her and she went back to sleep. Then she was up every 2 hours for a bottle last night after midnight. Thank goodness they both let me sleep in (which I hate doing but I really needed it).
  • Fed at 8, 11, 1,3,5,7:30...

    Shoot me. She's usually a 4-5 hr sleeper. I am ill-equipped.

    My boobs hurt for you.

  • Fed at 9pm & tried to put down for the night. Hubs stayed up while I went to bed, he ended up giving an ounce of BM in a bottle & kid went to sleep at 11pm. Slept till 2:30 am to feed, back to bed at 3. Woke again at4pm due arms getting out of the swaddle. Wouldn't sleep after that so it was the swing for him & the couch for me until 6am. Pretty decent night for him actually.
  • She fell asleep at 7:30 and woke up when I moved her to her crib. Nursed her back to sleep at 8:15. She woke at 11 for a diaper change. Woke at 1, 4:30, and 6 to eat. It's 7:12 right now and she's still asleep. It was an alright night but nothing like her usual nights when she only wakes twice.

  • Unusually bad. Started good with nursing at 8:30 and both of us asleep by 9:30. Up at 1 to nurse and then would not go back down. Spent from 2-3 walking, rocking, etc. Down from 3 to 4:30 but very noisy. Nursed at 4:30. Down for 45 minutes. Nursed at 5:45. Still not back to sleep... Guess we are up for the day!

  • Very fussy. Was up with her from sometime between 11-midnight until after 2am, at which point I woke up DH to take over. The only way she would sleep is to be on her stomach on his chest, which I can't sleep when they do because I'm paranoid something will happen to her, so I didn't get any sleep. An hour or so later she woke up fussy again after nursing, only DH could get her to calm down, but still wouldn't sleep unless on his chest so I still didn't get any sleep. Rinse, repeat. All night. It's going on 10am here and he just laid her down in her crib... where she's fussing some more. I finally did get an hour or so of sleep when I crashed in exhaustion while LO slept on DH again a bit ago, but then jacked up my back when I sat up to nurse her after waking. Day's barely started for us and I'm done already! x.x;;

  • Nursed at 10, 1, 5, and 8. Considering the night before was cluster feeding... I was ecstatic!
  • DS was really fussy yesterday evening but then had one of his best nights! went to sleep at 9 and only woke up at 2, 6 then up for the day at 9:30!!! I went to bed around 10 and got up for the day at 9 - got 8+ hours of sleep! (Afraid this means he'll be a monster today/tonight!)

  • @mummyofsix‌ how old is your LO? My girl is 6 weeks old and we had our best night yet too!!! I fed her at 730, she went down at 830 pm and woke up at 6 am!! We also had a check up this morning and she's up 2lbs since her ten day appointment so she's now 7lbs 12 oz and she's grown 2 inches!

Not too bad. Fed at 8;30 and down at 9:30. Up (about an hour each time to feed/change) at 11:30, 1:30, 3:30, 5, and 6:30. Really wish he'd sleep longer, but am super grateful he easily went back to sleep each time without being fussy. He's 3 weeks- tell me he'll eventually start sleeping more?

  • She had a bath at 6, then nursed, wouldn't nap. Nursed again at 7 wouldn't sleep. Nursed again at 9 until 11. Then again at 12, 1, 2, and 3. She finally fell asleep at 4, got back up at 730 and is currently nursing.

4 hours of sleep for me. Glad I slept with her yesterday afternoon. I have a doctor's appointment in two hours, abd then we're going to see family 4 hours away. DH worked a 12 hour graveyard shift last night, so it's going to be a pain. Night before she slept wonderfully. Ugh.
  • Fed at 7,9,11,3,5 then up for the day. He had serious grunts and groans alllllllllll night. It was a terrible sleep for DH and I.. I can't figure out this kids grunting. Doesn't do it at all when he sleeps durring the day, and at night it's out of control :(

  • I'm jealous of everyone. LO is terrible at night. He was fed at 9:45, finally went down at 11, back up at 11:30 to eat. Did not go back down til 12:30. Finally slept until 4:30, woke to feed then went back down at 5:30. Woke again at 7:45.

How do you ladies get your LOs down so fast after a feeding?

  • DS nursed at 8:30 and fell asleep but then woke up and didn't go to bed until 9:30. He woke up at 1:15, 4, and 6. After the 6am feeding we went back to sleep until 9am.
  • Nursed and put DS down at 9. We slept till 11. Then after that feeding he slept till 3! Our first four hour stretch ever. I woke up for a second at 2:30 wondering why he wasn't awake yet. My boobs were popping by 3. Changed/fed and I felt so excited about the four hour stretch. What a nice Mother's Day gift! But then he was awake for several hours afterwards...ugh! Luckily we all slept in (in the bed together) this morning.

  • DS was pretty cranky and gassy from about 7 to 10 when I finally got him down (but waaaaay better than the cranky from 3pm - 11pm that was Saturday)... BUT THEN HE SLEPT UNTIL 5:00!!!! Seriously, a Mother's Day Miracle! He nursed and then was wide awake until 6:30, but we snuck in a quick snooze until 7:30 while DH got up with DD. A pretty great night! I am
    sure it was a fluke.

At night time I nurse until DS pulls off, burp, change diaper then continue feeding until he stops (normally asleep) Burp/hold him on my chest for awhile, then re swaddle in crib. Sometimes he needs to be held after being swaddled for a few minutes, other times I put my hand on his belly and shush him. Also, I turn the sleep sheep back on after he's changed and we start nursing again.

It was the best night we've had yet! No crying sessions, still ate every 2-3 hours but I was able to get some rest finally. I'm praying we continue having nights like last night!

My first night ever of sleep!!!

LO actually slept 3 different sets of 2.5 hour stints.  He was up for an hour in between each with diaper change, then feeding and burping, but most amazingly, right back to sleep!!!!  He turned 4 weeks old today, so I'm hoping it turns into a trend :)

I've been living life on less than 2 hours sleep since he was born, because he would never actually go back to sleep for more than 15 minutes after his feedings.  So happy!
