Are there any identical moms that had their twins without the scare of TWin Transfusion resulting in complications?

I find out on Friday if I have identical or fraternal but at my 7 week ultrasound my doc said that they looked identical. Now I've been freaking out worried about the risks and when I went through the cases I read each mom had the twin transfusion issue and had a hard time before delivering their babies. Are there any identical twin pregnancies that went smooth?

I trust God will keep my little ones safe but I'm still a bit concerned. Thanks

My ID twin pregnancy went pretty smooth! Baby A was always around 15-18 percent smaller than baby B, but it was never an issue. No symptoms of TTTS or anything. I was at higher risk for preterm labor and had to do modified bedrest at the end, but that's pretty common no matter what type of twins you have. They did induce my labor early at 35 weeks because baby A had stopped growing like normal, but it wasn't due to TTTS.

I thought Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome is pretty uncommon. As my maternal fetal specialist explained, even if it does happen there are ways to stop it even if it does occur. If you have identicals, your doctor might recommend an ultrasound every two weeks to watch for complications like TTTS, at least that's what happened to me.

Easier said than done, but try to not stress about it and enjoy the excitement of your twin pregnancy . I'm sure your in good hands with your medical team.

I have identical girls and while the pregnancy was really hard, it wasn't because of TTTS. We didn't deal with that at all.

My mono/di twin pregnancy had no complications. I was monitored closely for TTTS but it was not a problem. Both boys were born healthy at 5 pounds 6oz.

No complications. There are plenty of women with mo-di pregnancies that had no complications.   I carried until 38 1/2 weeks and probably would have gone longer if they had let me.  My girls came out nice and healthy at 5 1/2 and 6 lbs.  I know it is hard, but you really need to try to not worry about potential complications unless they actually happen.  There is no way to prevent TTTS, so there is really nothing you can do about it either way except to get the best care you can by an experienced MFM - so frequent monitoring.  Eating healthy, gaining enough weight, and keeping your stress levels low are the very best things you can do for your babies over the next several months.

We had zero signs of TTTS and really no other complications except a PTL scare/ hospital stay at 32 weeks. I just delivered two healthy boys at 37 weeks after being induced. It's hard not to worry but try not to bc it doesnt help/change anything. Congrats on your twins!!!
