My 7 year old brought me "breakfast "in bed.... He and his 14 year old sister made chocolate dipped strawberries and earl grey tea. Who am I to turn down chocolate
Before I woke up, m y H went and got me special breakfast along with a ballon that said, 'best mom ever' and a gift. Then we went for a long walk with LO in Central Park as it was gorgeous outside, had lunch and got back home. It's a good first Mother's Day. :-)
No nothing that's not a first world problem. I was expecting some sort of acknowledgement, and I received none at all.
If it makes you feel any better my first 3 mother's days sucked Haha. For some reason or another we always ended up getting in a argument on that day or he just wouldn't give me much recognition. But my past couple ones have been nice.
Today I visited my mom and sisters and we had some kfc for lunch since none of us moms felt like cooking, ha. When I got back home DH had cleaned up and washed the dishes. He's gonna make mil and me dinner in a little while :-D
Glad many of you had great days! Mine started pretty rough, but ended OK. Got up early (7:15) to pump (like always). Washed dishes, sat down to address baptism invites and cut apart pictures. LO wakes up (we usually wake her later-I had planned to get my shower before then. DH gets up and plays with her a bit while I take a record-setting quick shower. Feed her, DH takes her so I can finish getting dressed. He goes and naps in the recliner (with LO) instead of getting things ready to go, and so I get things together. He tells me he is hungry, like he wants me to get his breakfast. I ignored him, a little peeved that I didn't even get a 'happy mother's day' yet. He can tell i'm not thrilled, so he puts LO in her swing and makes himself toast. Still no mention of mother's day. He eats, finishes getting himself ready for the day, and comes and picks up LO while I make myself breakfast. He asks HER if she has told me Happy Mother's Day yet... And asks me if I'm ready to leave for church. We went to church, which was great, except I missed the sermon because I had to nurse LO. After, we had lunch at Culver's (free sundae!) and went to IL's. Spent the rest of the day there. FIL barbecued chicken. Got a few strange looks for how we do things--brushed them off. Finally got home, and nursing LO to sleep. H said that my Mother's Day gifts were the womdow shades we bought for the car (for LO), and the mirror (for LO). And the trip to the city yesterday, where we went to Babies R Us, ate lunch, then went to the mall and got him a new hat. He said he was going to get me flowers, but I told him not to (they just die). So that was my day.

My little family and my sister and her SO went to my mom's, bought her lunch and hung out with her. She did so much planning for my wedding, we wanted to do something for her. DH then took me and LO shopping at an aquarium store where we ended up buying a mother's day gift of coral and a brand new mantis shrimp tank. My day was perfect. DD woke me up with kisses and telling me happy Mother's Day. DH made me biscuits and gravy and mimosas for breakfast. He also did diaper duty all day. I got a new Coach bag and the mothers ring I wanted with DD and DS's birthstone (both January babies so garnet). Then DD and I watched Frozen before going to the IL's. FIL cooked an amazing steak dinner. Came home and put the kids to bed. Now DH and I are catching up on DVR and snuggling before he goes out of town for work tomorrow.
Today was the best Mother's Day I've had! This morning, DH and DS gave me my gifts. There was a card with DS's handprints and DD's footprints inside and the necklace I wanted with their initials. DH also surprised me with a beautiful wind chime. The tones are from Amazing Grace, which is one of my favorite hymns and has a lot of special meaning for me.
After that we went to church, then came home for brunch. After the kids were both napping, I made myself some tea and spent some time on some craft projects I have been wanting to work on. Then we went out for our first family dinner (first time just the 4 of us). Lots of snuggle time, then we got the kids to bed. Now we are having some ice cream and watching some DVR'd shows. I was the perfect day with my little family!
I got to sleep in, DH made a wonderful brunch at our house with mimosas and we had our moms over, I relaxed and played with LO all day ( best part because she was so happy and smiley today), and I got very thoughtful gifts from my mom and DH.
Today was exactly what we needed as a family. DH made breakfast and gave me a beautiful ring with LO's birth stone, then we spent the rest of the day relaxing, watching movies, napping, and cuddling with take out for dinner. LO gave me a fabulous present and rolled over for the first time from tummy to back and I got to witness it which was super exciting for me!
My day was better than I was expecting! Slept in a bit, then I fed & cuddled E for about an hour while DH made me breakfast (French Toast - YUM). After that we got ready for church, and when I went to change E into his church clothes I found a cute card waiting at the changing table! Church went well, they had carnations for all of the mothers, which was cute - DH "bought" me several.
After that we went to town, stopped and saw my family for a few min, and went out to a late lunch at a new restaurant I've been wanting to try. Then DH wanted to go to the mall to look at getting a mother's ring for me. I didn't find one yet, but the guy at the jewelry store is checking into finding what I want for me.
Stopped at my family's house again on the way home and had chocolate cake, yum! Then headed home for the night.
E was really happy and smiley all day too which just made the day really nice!
Mothers Day in the UK was March, but yesterday was my first birthday as a Mum
Started well as Emily allowed a birthday lay-in and 7 hours of sleep, then we had lunch at the IL's and snoozy cuddles on the sofa. Then I dressed Emily in her party frock an we took her to an Indian restaurant with my Mum and step-dad, plus the brother and his wife. I NIP twice, while eating one handed, with the wrong hand too i'll add (LO's party frock now needs to be dry cleaned as I dropped curried potato on her - oops!!!)
My day was pretty good, MH let me sleep until 10:30 (mostly because LO had a rough night) then I took a long shower. When I got downstairs there was flowers a card and a gc for a facial (which I asked for) then went to my parents house for brunch which was more stressful then relaxing. After we hung out on the patio and talked with the neighbors.
