Today's ER

They got 13 eggs at my retrieval today. They're trying to freeze them as Day 5 blasts. Keeping my fingers crossed for my 1st report tomorrow. I did a dual trigger (hcg and lupron) on Wednesday night. I have quite a few friends who have also done IVF and they said they were fine after ER, just crampy. I didn't have any pain during my HSGs, IUIs or mock, as some of them did, so was expecting to be fine. Wrong! I had so much cramping BEFORE the procedure that I barely made it in the office before becoming SO nauseous. I made it to the bathroom to hug the toilet. I think just being able to sit there and rest and some cold water on my face helped a bit. Thankfully I didn't throw up. I felt awful and the nurse had to wheel me across the hall. With all that pain, I got so nervous when it was finally time to walk into the room itself for the procedure. I sat down and started crying. WTH! Am I the only one who was that bad? Ugh!

I didn't cry or anything, but I was in so much pain beforehand, and after I was done with ER the dr was observing me for a while. AND my pain was so bad that I literally had to take to bed for the next few days. Hopefully you'll have a great report when they call you tomorrow! BTW, why the double trigger? I had not heard of this.

I had no pain. However, I had nothing to retrieve so that could be why. /: Hope you're feeling better!

I was so nervous and my heart was racing so fast that everyone who took my vitals kept asking if I was okay.  I mean come on people, you;re about to stick a needle through my vagina...I'm going to be nervous!

Whew! Glad I'm not the only one. Lol. I'm not sure the reason for the double trigger actually. It's my first IVF. I'm still learning. My clinic does either Lupron, hcg or the combo. They decide after looking at your bw for that day. My dr mentioned something about Lupron can fail? And OHSS is more frequent with one of them? Can't remember which one. But I will ask the nurse this weekend because now I want to know too. : )

Thx for the info @IFinTN‌. As of today, 9 of the 13 fertilized normally and 4 fertilized abnormally. I'm guessing that means all 13 were mature if they tried to fertilize them all?
