Oh I love Spaghetti Squash! No, not similar to pasta, as pp said it tastes like other forms of squash, maybe most similar to acorn? But covered in marinara sauce and parm cheese you really don't miss the noodles.
People lie and insist it tastes like spaghetti noodles. It does not. At all. However, the taste is not strong, and it has a similar texture to spaghetti. If you are avoiding carbs or want a new veggie, it is a good substitute. However, if you want spaghetti, you need to make spaghetti :-)
I've had it before - it wasn't great but it was horrible either. I found it crunchier than traditional pasta and if you're wanting to sneak the fiber in, it's a good option because it looks like spaghetti. As for taste, it's pretty neutral which I was relieved to find because I'm NOT a squash eater other than maybe in pumpkin pie...
We eat it often. DD can't have most gluten free pastas even, rice and wheat allergy.
It's pretty bland and tasteless, like plain pasta. But it works as a conduit for delicious sauces!
