Trying to Get Pregnant

solid smiley on day 29?! anyone else?

I posted a few days ago about my MANY flashing smileys on the Clearblue Advanced Digital OPK. Altogether I had 11 flashing smileys from cycle days 18 - 28. I basically gave up on trying to get the solid smiley but decided to finish the box since I only had a few more tests left. Today on day 29, the solid smiley finally appeared! I couldn't believe it.  I only started temping this past week because the smileys were driving me crazy - and it would appear that the OPK is right (although I don't have the entire month of data).

Since December, my cycles have consistently been around 35 days. Every so often they'll last a week or two longer. Is it still possible to get pregnant on day 29? Anyone have a similar experience? I've read about a lot of other girls having a ton of flashing before a solid, but not this late in the cycle.  I'm worried and my hubby doesn't trust this test. :)

I wouldn't use the Advanced again - I heard the original Clearblue Digital is much less confusing with just a circle and a smiley face. No flashing nonsense!

  • I only got a flashing smiley face once several cycles ago. But I get several solids a months...I truly think temping is the only way to be sure.

    1. Yes
    2. Not personally, never been pregnant.

I've never had an issue with internet cheapies or the dollar store OPKs, perhaps give those a try next time?

Agreed! I actually thought I O'ed on day 18 because of EWCM... I was getting ready to test in the next few days and now this test has totally thrown me off. :)

CM only tells you might O, not that you will for sure. You can have several fertile looking patches of CM in a month. Only temping will confirm whether or not you did actually O.

  • Last cycle I got a solid smiley on CD 42, so yep! I switched from the Advanced digitals to Wondfos and the basic Clearblue digital. When I get a positive Wondfo, I confirm with digital Clearblue OPK. Too pricey with my long cycles to use digi everyday  :((
