Mixing Formulas?

I am just transitioning to a BM/Formula mix.  My goal is to BF in AM and PM, and Formula during the day while DD is at DCP.  I started w/ Similac Organic...and have 2 other tins of Similac that are different, one is Soy and one is something else...  My question is: can you mix formula's as long as its in the same family or should I commit to the Similac Organic and give away the other tins??

 TIA

Re: Mixing Formulas?

  • I would at least try them separately first to make sure your baby can tolerate them - if you haven't already. My ds had an allergic reaction to soy formula.
  • Loading the player...
  • I have switched back and forth from Enfamil to Similac and back without problems.  Each DC is different, but you can try.  I would not, however, give Soy to a baby on a lactose diet.  I'd give that can away.

  • Okay, no soy.  Doable.  I have a lot of Enfamil AND Similac, so consensus so far is that I can use all of it as long as its dairy-based and DD is watched to ensure she's not having trouble digesting...  Thanks!
