Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day.  You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

Yeah, fucking AF. I was dealing ok (minimal crying, etc) until this morning when I saw FB. A (third) cousin announced her pregnancy, baby #5. HOW IS THAT FAIR?

My fair was good, made about $50, 25 after the table fee. I will attach pics of my table.





QOTW: I like to got to the mall, a play place or the library when it rains. I don't really like to stay in the house, even when it rains.

I'm on CD11 and got a negative OPK today. I'm guessing I will O around CD15 like last cycle. I'm still feeling really down and angry. I think I'm going to call my RE and see if I can schedule a consult. We don't really have the money to do medicated cycles right now but I want to find out if it's even a possibility for the future. I want to discuss if there is any way to do medications to increase our chances and beef up my O without risking multiples again.

QOTW: it was rainy here today too so we painted in the bathtub. Super easy to clean up and still tons of fun!

Thanks for the check-in @MoreThanSparrows08 and the good thoughts from everyone.

I'm still bleeding from my CP but had some initial blood work done with my OB this morning to get the ball rolling on testing.  I also got referred to the RE and have an appt. set up for June 4th.  I think at this point the earliest we will actively be TTC again is July, but it really depends on how the appt. goes with the RE.  Right now emotionally I'm just kind of in a numb space.  Even though I didn't have a great feeling about this latest BFP I still am a bit in shock and the fact that this one had the same EDD as my DD did stings a lot.  It just seems unnecessarily cruel.

@mara005 SO many ((hugs)).  It's so hard to hear when friends and family members are "fertile myrtles" and we're stuck here hoping and praying we get to keep our next baby.  Thanks for pointing out the misspelling! I've fixed it now

@Missa_g FX that you O and have good timing and that this is your cycle.  I think just knowing if medicated cycles are a possibility down the line will be good.  At least then you'll know where you stand. ((hugs))

Today I am on CD 14 and I am supposed to Ovulate tomorrow and I am sooooooo hoping that I do! My Husband and I were stepping off the trying to conceive train, but had a long talk this afternoon and got some stuff off our chest, so we have decided to continue with our journey. 

QOTW: My Daughter and I like to craft, well I have to be honest, I craft and she watched and helps some, but have a good time doing it. We also bake on nasty weather day, cupcakes and cookies .

AFM: I am 10 dpo. I am not even thinking about testing and AF should show up mid to late next week. I wish I could be more positive, but I just can't get myself there. I am back to having a lot of jealousy over all the pregnant women around me. I hate it when I get into a funk. I always feel like I will never be able to climb out of it.

QOTW: we have a local mall with a great indoor play place. There is also the Ecotarium a few towns away that is a great rainy day activity.

Morning Ladies!  This is going to be a bit of a post and run because I'm seeing my therapist in about 15 minutes.  I'm feeling pretty shitty to be honest.  I think the severity of my issues finally really hit me.  I got pregnant so easily with my girls that I thought for sure IUI would be the answer, and it wasn't.  AF isn't here yet and I hope she shows soon so I can go in for CD 3 blood work with my new RE.  I want to talk more with him about my future and the IVF process.  I called my mom yesterday to ask for my grandmother's address for a mother's day card and to tell her the IUI was unsuccessful and out of nowhere she says, "have you considered maybe using your sister's eggs because she has better eggs"?!?!?!?!?!?!  WTF?  SERIOUSLY?  I know she meant well but a) horrible timing b) I barely speak to my crazy twin sister c) thanks for reminding me I'm not "normal".  

I'm sure I'll feel better once AF shows but for now I'm feeling pretty down.  I wish we all lived closer so we could have a wine o'clock happy hour this afternoon in my back yard!!

@ellebelle2384‌ Again, I'm so sorry about your loss! It really does seem unnecessarily cruel that it was the same edd. That would be hard to deal with. I hope you and your family are able to find peace. And hopefully an re will be helpful in guiding you to your take home baby. Big hugs!

@Neary2011‌ I'm glad you and dh had a heart to heart. I think that ttc (and mcs in particular) definitely rock even the best marriages so know that you're not alone in your struggles! Thoughts and prayers that you guys come through this storm even stronger. Much love!

@TMaggie0424‌ Three weeks!!! Holy snack bars!! Hopefully the major things are all in place, but still- girl that's brave! Temping is a cinch- my best advice though would be not to try and analyze everything your first cycle... That's what I did and I drove myself crazy! It's really more about the overall pattern and it's difficult to decipher in the middle of it. Good luck with it!

@mom2anangel‌ I hope this month is your bfp!!! Don't give up yet! I'll be looking for your happy news next week.

@Frenchteachermama‌ ugh!! I always find it hurts the most when it's my mom who is insensitive. People really don't understand the difficulties of IF and certainly don't understand that it's not a simple process to just "use some one else's eggs" or sperm, or go though ivf or adopt. The list of how easy it is to "just" whatever is endless. They just don't understand!! I hope your therapist is able to help you out today. ((Big big hugs!))) you're in my thoughts.

@MoreThanSparrows08‌ As always, thank you for the checkin. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that it's here!! What about you? How are you doing?

AFM: Holy Canoli! My consult is booked! What a calamity that was- you know the re didn't even send it until the 29th of April? What the heck??? I could have been for surgery and healed and rested up by now! Ah well, that part is over. So my consult is June 3rd and we will also discuss treatment plans for post-surgery. So scary!!

The clomid must be working because my ovaries HURT! I think because I took it later in my cycle (days 6-10) it has made my O later. I'm on day 16 now and nothing confirmed- not even a +opk yet! Which of course has me freakin out that because I took it so late I won't O at all. But I'm still hopeful it will just be later than usual! Next cycle I take it on days 3-7 so hopefully things will be closer to normal for me.

Eta: Wait!! I take it back. I just tested and have a crazy strong positive opk! Hurrah! Life is good ladies

AFM:

5DPO now, hoping to hold off on testing until at least 10 DPO.  I've started a new workout challenge, and I'm determined not to give up again this time.  I'm hoping the working out will help keep me distracted from the 2WW.  My allerigies have been acting up like crazy so I haven't gotten more than about 5.5 hours of sleep each night since Monday... I'm so freaking tired!!!

I think my oldest (7) is going through some growing pains... He had a low grade fever last Saturday, and just felt icky, and it went away after a few hours on it's own.  Monday I had to pick him up from school for the same thing, and then after a few hours, it was gone.  I don't remember experiencing growing pains for myself, but DH's little sister had them at about my son's age, so I'm pretty sure that's what it is.  DH agrees.

QOTW: I'm a big puzzle person, so on rainy yucky days, we break out one of my 500 or 1000 piece puzzles and work on it together.  DH doesn't really participate cause he's not a puzzle guy, but he watches and helps the boys when they need it.  We also like to color and paint.

@frenchteachermama Sending big hugs your way. Moms are great, but they don't always say the right thing. After my first 2 losses, which were quite early, my mom said, "Well, if you were in my generation you might not have even known you were pregnant, since we didn't have good home pregnancy tests. You would have just thought your period was late." Thanks, Mom. Really sensitive. After this last loss, though, I think she finally realized what a struggle we are having and genuinely is sad for us. I hope your therapist appt. went well. I saw my shrink yesterday and felt like it helped me immensely to talk about all this stuff. Having a couple of girlfriends over last night for some wine also helped.

@almostamissus I hope the Clomid works for you this month!

As for me, I'm feeling a little better each day. I am starting to look forward to our RE appointment next week, even though I'm scared. I like the thought of getting a plan in place, and of having DH there to hear everything instead of it just being ME obsessing all the time.

DS has been extra snuggly lately, which is great. He knows I've been sad and keeps asking me, "Are you happy, mama?" (He's almost 3).  This whole loss roller coaster has really re-emphasized what a miracle he is, and what a miracle every healthy pregnancy and baby is. 

QOTW: My favorite rainy day activity with DS is staying home and snuggling with books or a movie.

@almostamissus‌ I already have a diagnosis of DOR and endometriosis. It took Femara with gonal-f injections to conceive our twins. Since I already have an IF diagnosis that only gets worse with time our first step with a RE this time would be medication. He might want to retest my levels to see how much worse they are and/or do another laproscopy to check out how badly the endo has regrown but I'm reluctant to do that since nothing would be covered. We're totally OOP.

@BookishMomma‌ After dh went to my re appt with me- that's when he really started to understand this was a REAL issue and not just obsessing. I really hope you're able to gain some insight.

@Missa_g‌ Wow! It's so difficult for me to comprehend US medical care... I can't imagine knowing I have a health problem and paying oop. I mean, yes, as a Canadian we pay for iui and ivf but surgery and monitoring is covered under our provincial care. I'm so sorry that you're faced with a difficult decision! I really hope that as you progress things will come together and your able to find a solution the financial aspect.

@mara005 ((hugs)) for AF.  Someone posted something I thought correct on the 2IF board the other day...."it's true that people get pregnant, and when you're going through a rough patch it seems like the entire world gets pregnant around you".  That is seriously how it feels!!  YOU ARE SO TALENTED!!!!  I would have brought your whole booth!

@Missa_g My friend's RE practice in NJ won't trigger you for an IUI cycle if you have more than one mature follicle!  She was shocked that mine let me go with 2 and I was surprised that hers did that.  FX that you don't need to see your RE and that this is your cycle!

@ellebelle2348 That is unnecessarily cruel!  I hate this whole process!!  Sending you big ((hugs)).  I hope that you get the answers you need from the RE.

@Neary2011 I am so glad you worked things out with DH.  I hope that you two can continue to be on the same page.

@TMaggie0424 I'm glad you and DH are working to be on the same page too!  That's so exciting about planning the wedding!  I've decided to get back in shape too with @MoreThanSparrows08 and the diet bet!

@BookishMomma My 3 year old has been extra snuggly too and it totally does snap me out of my funk.  We are so blessed to have our babies (even if they are growing up) and I think they do pick up on a lot more than we think they do.  My kids keep asking me if "my belly still hurts".  It makes me sad   My shrink is awesome and I am so glad I found her.  She specializes in IF and women's health so she's very knowledgeable.  I can't wait to hear how your appt goes next week.

I forgot the QOTW:  My favorite rainy day activity with my kids is popping some popcorn and renting a "new" movie they've never seen.  I showed them Annie the other day and they loved it!

Good afternoon ladies. I'm showing up late to the party. So this is the first month of TTC. I have gone over so many things in my head. I guess I was confused as to who I call after a BFP (when I do get one), do I call the OB, the Perinates, or my FP Dr? So I called my OB who did my D&C to ask these questions. They want me to call there first.

I told the nurse that I promise I am not a crazy person who is scheduling a first OB appt while not even pregnant and I will not demand and U/S while the pee is still drying from the HPT. I did express my feelings though. I told her that all the testing in the world will not really give me peace of mind unless it's a U/S done at the right time. HPT can only tell me that I have HCG in my system and that is it. I had hcg in my system 4 times and only once did I get a take home baby. To me, a line is not a positive ( I mean it is, but...) I've had a line/positive and miscarried a week later.  The same with beta quants, they don't mean a thing to me at anymore. With my last pregnancy, they were rising fine, but I ended up having a BO, so the 'tests' lied to me as well. I will not let them do an u/s on me either until I know I am at least 6 weeks late on my period. I refuse to go in any sooner. An early u/s won't show anything anyway and I want to avoid the stress. She agreed with me and understood and but said she still wants me to call as soon as I get a BFP. They will want to do BW (understandable) and make sure the progesterone is fine and if not, can rx me some.

That's fine with me, but unless they can "fix" anything wrong, I don't want to know and wonder and dwell on numbers. I already am in ostrich mode (sticking my head in the ground) and I don't know if that is good or bad. I plan to be proactive (drinking plenty of water, exercising, taking PNV...), but not crazy, which is not easy.

I (we) are just going to enjoy our time together as a family of 3 and TTC without the stress, and just try enjoy ourselves ;;)

QOTD: I like to bake and decorate cookies with my son. He makes a huge mess, but he loves it.

I am so sorry!!! I wish I was there with you IRL to give you a big hug! I know words like that sting and the pain lingers. Your mom loves you, I'm sure, and wouldn't have said that intentionally to hurt you, but it was incredibly insensitive. Especially since your sister is the evil twin. None of this is your fault, so try not to dwell on the thought of not being "normal". I have had those thoughts too, and it does me no good to "go there". Your a great wife and a fantastic mother to your girls. My mom has said things to me before "trying to help me" and she makes things sooo much worse. Again, I am so sorry that she mentioned that suggestion. Lots of BIG, BIG ((((HUGS)))) to you, my dear friend.

@morethansparrows08 Thanks for the check in. I am doing well, hope you are too. I am trying to get motivated with my life goals. Need to finish up my degree and traditional school isn't cutting to so I need to get in to an online program. I am trying harder to get my weight loss in to gear. Basically just trying to focus on me moving forward.

@Frenchteachermomma - ((HUGS)) I hope your appointment with your therapist was helpful.  And I am sorry for what your mother said, even if she meant well.  I have a twin sister (not evil, but annoying at times) and my mom had compared us quite often.  It gets so irritating.  My sister was pregnant 1 month after she was married and has had 3 girls in 5 years.  After we lost our first son I got pregnant again 4 months later.  When we told my mom she said "what took so long."  She knew of our struggles and the fact that I had surgery and was taking medication.  I actually cried when she said that.  

@almostamissus - I am glad to hear that your consult is booked.  I hope the pain is a good sign that the Clomid is working, but it sounds awful.

@MoreThanSparrows08 -  I hope your exercise routine keeps you distracted.  I also hope that your son's growing pains resolve, they don't sound very nice.

@BookishMomma - ((HUGS)) It really is amazing how LO's sense that we need the extra hugs.  My DS was just shy of 1 when we had our last loss and he kept running over to me and giving me hugs and kisses.  Of course I was so emotional that that would make me cry, but they were to most amazing hugs!

@srcr2011 - I completely get wanting to stick your head in the sand.  I feel the same way at times.  Unfortunately the medical person in me also wants to know everything so that I can (over) analyse every detail.  GL with your first cycle!

@stephy1221 - Focusing on moving forward is such a great plan (but often so difficult to do).  I hope you are able to get your school issues resolved.

Hi Ladies - Sorry I am a bit late.  Working night shift this weekend and baseball tournament for both of the boys. 

5DPO technically 6DPO since it is after midnight here, only dotted crosshairs on CD 17 primarily because so many of temps were at different times I think.  I also did not get a true +OPK this month.

I bought some new ones online  and I never got a test line that was darker than the control line but plenty of them that were very close.  I never input them as a +.

I had progesterone levels checked on CD 21 so now anxiously waiting for those results.

QOTY: I love opening the windows on rainy days so it gets a little chilly and I spend the day in bed or on the couch with my furbaby..

@sergeantb44‌ Clomid is going great! Just confirmed O w ff and our timing was perfect. I also had crazy strong O pains on my good side, so I am feeling incredibly hopeful!
I have read about a specific brand of opks not always producing a "true positive" on the 3T board and was told that those ladies actually did O- confirmed either by bloodwork or u/s. So hopefully that is the case for you! Wouldn't cd21 be too early for a progesterone check if you O'ed on cd17? I thought the p4 was accurate at 7dpo... Might be worth mentioning to your doctor!

How did I miss this last week?

Ah, well. I'm just waiting on AF at some point in the next few days. I forgot to take my thermometer with me when I traveled for work, so I'm missing a bunch of temps and am just guessing on O/CL based on CM. So, I may be 11dpo or 12dpo, or possibly, 10dpo. Fun. :P

All that said, since The Event is passed, I am so much less stressed. It is a beautiful thing, this living with little/no stress.

Thanks, love, but the FX isn't necessary, as our timing this go was terrible, awful, no good. As in -4 and -5, lol. It would be nothing short of a miracle to be KU'd this month. It's okay though, really

Yeah, so i'm now on CD3 The day before I had planned to test I got a lower temp so I had a feeling that AF was coming. All along though I kind of knew that this cycle didn't have a good chance since I did get a saline u/s. I did get a blood draw for a chromosomal analysis and DH will do one also. So I talked to my RE's office today and the RE wants to start me on BC until they get the results back from the blood test. At that point they will have me stop BC and i'll start another cycle where he will monitor me.

Soooo... that's the plan for now. I'm just really trying to see a light at the end of this tunnel!

QOTW: My favorite thing to do when it's rainy outside is just to cuddle up in bed or on the couch with the kids and DH. I also like to bake cookies or cinnamon rolls!

The OPK may just be that cheap..There I am sure is something to be said for that.. it is strange though..i was a lab tech before nurse and OPK are the only rapid testing that i have ever seen that the test line has to be equal or darker than the control line..Every other testing even the faintest line is considered a +. Anyway I did have one I thought was + and have the one with smiles that was pos but for whatever reason I forgot to chart it..guess I should have compared them.

I agree that with my O usually on CD 17 that 21 was probably a bit early.. but my level was 6 so confirmed O. My ob is not really wanting to do much yet since it was 1 loss and i am only 4 months post D&c but he did it to humor me.

I am almost glad the opk are not appearing so reliable. I had great elevated temp this am after sleeping so very hopeful. I am a nurse as I mentioned so plenty of OCD tendencies making all of this charting difficult for me to just relax and TTC. As much as I know it's best to chart and know where I am but sometimes I wonder if I should (or can) not do any of the testing and go back to just giving it a try. ..

@MoreThanSparrows08‌ I am actually not feeling too anxious to test.. i got HPT with the OPK that i am not such a fan of so not even sure I will trust them.. it does help when I want to POAS earlier than normal though.. i usually try and hold out until 12DPO at a minimum but I can usually tell looking at my temps what to expect.

Sorry this got so long it felt to to just write it and think about it out loud.. FX for some good news in the coming days!

@NoeliaV‌ the last time I got a bfp, I thought for sure there was no way I would get KU that cycle because our timing was so bad, so you never know! I held off the urge to test today and I'll do the same tomorrow and test at 10dpo. Im super proud of our timing this month! Hope this is our cycle!

@kj808 so sorry for CD3. ((Hugs)) FX everything with the blood work is normal and you guys can move on to another monitored cycle.

@almostamissus I broke down and testing this morning with 2nd MU, so, of course, it was BFN. I'm going to test tomorrow with FMU, and then not again until AF is late if still BFN.  I'm kind of losing hope for this cycle - everything seems so typical PMS to me that I doubt I am KU... :-/

@almostamissus 9DPO, but my LP is usually between 11 and 13 days.  I don't know that I'm "giving up" just a subconscious part of me thinking it didn't happen this month... We'll see in a few days time.

almostamissus, I am struggling right now, have had two losses and I am praying for a rainbow baby. I want to test on May 19th, but my husband wants me to wait until I am late, but I don't think I can wait that long. When do you plan to test? Blessed Wishes for you!
