Trying to keep hope alive (long)

Last night around 9:30 I started bleeding. It's very much like a period. I've read all the forums about bleeding and am trying to keep hope alive but... I've had 3 children, no ectopics or miscarriages. My youngest is 4. Even at my AMA, turning 39 on Monday, I'm in pretty good shape. We've been tracking since October and my ovulation and periods have been really regular. I get my periods on the correct day in the morning so bleeding 2 days late at night was weird. Multiple BFN with many nurses telling me it's early to test since my IUI on the 20th and 21st. Please let me still be pregnant and this bleeding be implantation! No other symptoms like a normal period. No cramps or breast tenderness. Nauseous and puked yesterday morning.

  • I'm mobile, so if you have a siggy, I can't see it. Are you using any fertility meds? I was 100% regular until we added meds into the mix. Also, unfortunately, it would be kind of late for implantation bleeding based on everything I have read/heard of. Not to say that it couldn't happen though. There are always outliers. Since you would be 17 and 18 dpiui, you could ask for a beta. At the very least it would give you a clear answer.

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

I'm also curious if you used any meds. My periods were not only predictable before using fertility med but I always had the same set of AF symptoms when it was the end of my cycle- cramps, weight gain, sore breasts. Once I started fertility meds and progesterone all that was predictable was no longer. My period would start with no cramping or it would be totally later than normal and I would have grown a full cup size but lost weight.

Implantation bleeding is typical 8-12ish dpo I think. My IB was literally two of the tiniest drops of blood on toilet paper when I wiped one day. Very minimal, but I've read all kind of things about how IB can look and some women get it heavier. So while I'm not saying this definitely is not IB, it's less likely. If I was in your shoes I would test with an FRER or CB digital and if still not satisfied then totally get a beta. If it is a pregnancy and you are having AF- like bleeding you need to find out asap.

After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.
