Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Feeding/ starting to wean

My daughter is almost 9 months old and I've nursed her until now.  I've had supply issues all along, but especially since I stopped taking Domperidone when she was around 6 months old.  At that point I was only getting 2 bottles from pumping 3 times a day so I started giving her 2 bottles of formula at daycare too, and then continued nursing at night, when she woke up in the middle of the night and in the morning.  I recently slowed down to pumping once a day because I was only getting one bottle's worth. Since she had a tooth come through a few weeks ago, she was biting me every time I nursed her so I also stopped nursing her a few days ago and gave her bottles at night and in the morning.  We're now at the point where she has finally learned to put the binky in her own mouth most of the time when she wakes up so she actually slept through the night the last two nights.  I have wondered all along if my low supply and nursing was hurting her ability to sleep through the night.  My goal is to still give her one pumped bottle a day until her 9 month bday which is 5 days away.

My question is, do I need to do anything special to wind down the pumping if I only get 2-3 ounces from pumping once a day and not nursing at all, or do I just stop?  Can you always tell if you get blocked from not pumping/ nursing?  I'm sick too (bad headache, possible fever, body ache, sore throat) and I've heard that you can get sick if you are blocked, but am assuming I would be in pain if I was.

She has also started throwing tantrums recently.  Could that be related to not nursing anymore or is that pretty normal at this age?  Other than that she doesn't seem to care whether I nurse her or she has a bottle.    Thanks!
