Well that sucks (Possible BFP/Possible Loss Mentioned)

So, at the beginning of this Cycle DH and I decided that we would take a break to focus on getting healthy if nothing came of this cycle.  Of course this would also be the month of my very first BFP.  3 yrs of TTC and not a glimmer of a BFP.  No faint lines or even evap lines.  Started to doubt if HPT's even worked.  Would love to get your input on what you think of these numbers.

Beta # 1: 28.4  (CD34 / 14dpIUI)  This would normally be the day my Period would have started.
Beta # 2: 50.2  (CD36 / 16dpIUI)

My nurse told me my Beta #1 was a low Positive and to stay hopeful that they rise.  Today another nurse (my nurse is out on Thurs) called with my Beta #2 results and told me it wasn't a strong enough rise and started explaining Chemical and tubal pregnancies (I already know what these are).   I go back on Monday for Beta #3 and if it still rising they will do a scan to check for tubal. 

I'm just feeling like I'm in a fog now.  I'm super disappointed but thankful for the progress.  At least it wasn't just a BFN, then again, the BFP getting pulled away hurts a lot worse than if it were just a BFN.  How have you ladies handled something like this?  And my big question which is purely out of hope and may be a little crazy. Has anyone heard of Beta #'s this low going on to be successful?

I lost a pregnancy in march, first beta was 20 (they warned us this was low), #2 was 42. They said they wanted to do a 3rd to be safe and it was 8, a day later it was over. 

My fingers, toes, and everything else are crossed that it works out better for you.

Ideally, your beta today would have been about 56, so you aren't too far off. I'm sorry you are going through this. It sucks without a doubt. I hope that Monday brings a great result and your little embie is just getting comfy.

Not that I'm suggesting you do this, but here is what I did to keep sane when I had my c/p. I POAS every day from Friday to Monday. Unfortunately, I watched it get darker and then lighter. I also was bleeding heavily as this was happening, so I already knew I probably wasn't going to have a sticky embie. It sucks because something finally worked and then you watch it disappear and there is nothing you can do.

I'm so sorry but I just don't see where I'd say you are completely out just yet. Yes it's low but it almost doubled and that's what they expect. Personally I hate betas because 1 number means absolutely nothing. Some ppl freak out because it's low but then it turns out fine and some ppl freak about multiples because it's high and it's just 1. I call it the Beta hell! My Dr has always told me as long as it's doubling every 2 days it's good don't look at the number.

Nothing is a guarantee especially this early but try to relax, trust me I know it's so hard. Just take it easy over the next couple of days and FX the numbers skyrocket on Monday. Good luck!

I'm with Pinto.  I definitely don't think you're out but I totally understand this is a stressful place to be in.  Fingers and toes crossed for a good beta on Monday!

I agree with Pinto too!  Beta #3 should give you a better idea, but try not to get discouraged yet -- I know, easier said than done.  I had 2 losses, but only ever had beta done after the fact, so my HCG and Progesterone were always super low by then.  They were both before I started my treatments, so I wasn't being monitored.

FX for you that #3 takes off!!!

Since it was close to doubling I don't see why this nurse freaked you out. With my c/p my first beta was like 46, my second was 23. That is how they knew. And for tubal the numbers usually are high. To me it sounds like late implanter and there's a good chance. Wait for beta 3. Good luck, beta hell sucks.

I agree with Pinto, the number doubled.  Beta's have to start somewhere, fx that your embie snuggles in and you get a great beta on Monday.

So sorry you're going through this but pp are right the third beta will give you a better picture.
What's your progesterone doing?
With my c/p I was 26 and 36 for my first and second beta. But at my second beta my progesterone also totally took a nose dive (again though this doesn't always paint the whole picture).

I'm really not sure what my Progesterone is doing.  Haven't gotten those numbers.  I've been on Progesterone Suppositories since IUI.  As of last night I started lightly spotting which I know can be any number of things.  Thank you all so much for your support and backing me off the edge.  Hate having to wait 4 days to retest.  4 days of torture.
