S/O sweets

After reading the sweets poll I am feeling rather awful.  I have never really classified graham crackers/teddy grahams, animal crackers as a sweet.  I serve something like this nearly every day for snack.  Do you classify these as sweets and try to have them rarely?

Re: S/O sweets

  • I wouldn't serve them daily, but also don't think they're good enough to be considered dessert. Just a higher sugar content than I would serve on a daily basis...for my kid. What I eat is another story. :)

  • Well, to me they're not in the same category as candy or regular cookies, etc, but I wouldn't serve them every day. DD gets them once a week at a preschool program we go to and I don't mind that at all.

  • FWIW I would serve them daily.  But as I stated I'm not all that concerned with the sweets intake.

  • And I don't know that I would serve a bowl of them.  Probably 5 or so.  I do consider them cookie-ish.  but again, I would still serve them, or not care if someone handed her a little pack of them.

  • When DD was about 2 and younger I would consider those types of snacks a treat. Now not so much!

  • No way IMO are teddy grahams a sweet.  A molten lava cake is a sweet.

  • It falls into the category of a sweet, but juice also falls into the category.

Not in the same category as something like a lolly pop or cookie though.  Those to me are true 'junk' foods, where as animal crackers have some nutritional value in my book.  But everything in moderation I say.
  • They can have nutritional value, depending on the brand. My kid eats gluten free animal crackers at least 3 times a week. She still gets a real dessert those days. :P
  • Z loves the apple ones- they are good for you ;) apples & all

Kidding. In case that wasn't obvious.
  • We eat those kinda sorta sweets maybe every other day.

I asked Cameron to make me dinner and this is what he brings me. I asked what it was and he said "a beer and a chocolate bagel". What does that say about me? :)

Well the other day mini served "lunch". Donuts and waffles for everyone except me. I got a piece of lettuce and she was so proud to give me a salad. Ha!

  • I'd call graham crackers or teddy Graham's and animal crackers junk food but it's not sweets. We don't eat it more than maybe once or twice a week.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
