Stupid folic acid question

My re says that if you are on px folic acid (5mg) that you don't need to take a pnv until second tri.
However, I think my iron and b12 is low because I have that tell-tale "draggy" feeling so I want to start taking the pnv again for a bit to see if it helps.
Does anyone know if it's dangerous to take more than 5mg of folic acid? My pnv has 1mg, I think, so it would be 6mg in total.

Eta clarity

  • I take a PNV and a 5mg pill of folic acid, as my RE advised me to, I'd say you're fine.

  • Thanks for the responses ladies! I figured since it's a b vitamin, it should be ok.
@lhbphd‌ haha. Yes I could do that, but I'm cheap and don't want to buy multivitamins since I already have a fairly hefty supply of pnvs. Lol
