Clomid 3-7 and Clomid 13-20 all in the same cycle

Ok! Folks this is my first time on Clomid and we were planning on doing an IUI however here is what has happened and the plan is for the rest of this cycle........
**Clomid day 3-7
**Ultasound day 12 (today)  with 2 follicles at 10 and 3 more follicles around 5  (RE wants them around 18)
**My RE wants me to take Clomid again starting tomorrow from cycle day 13- 20
**Go back for ultrasound appointment cycle day 24

The hope is this will trick my body and allow the follicles to be rescued from a 10 and grow to 18.

Has anyone else had anything similar to this??? I don't want 8 babies or cysts!! Should I use OPKs?? Should my hubby and I try while we are waiting for the next apportionment?? (They didn't say not to ) Help! I'm freaking out!!

I have had two cycles where I needed two rounds of Clomid: one when we increased the dose (from 50 to 100) for the second round, and another that was two rounds at the same dose (100).  Both times, there were plenty of small follies, but only one that actually grew to mature size.  When they are that small, it is probably not likely that they will all mature.  At least that has been the case for me. 

OPKs may not be reliable on meds, so don't rely on them, but I do still use them.

Sure, BD all you like, unless there are restrictions due to MFI.

I did this, by day 24 my progesterone was less than 1 so she had me do another 100mg for 5 days, my cycle ended up being like 50 or 55 days long but i did ovulate, but it was a bfn.
