We are looking for a wooden playset. Ds1 is 3 years old. If you have on you really like can you please recommend it? We are having a hard time selecting one.
I think @elmoali recently had one set up for her DS's...it's an epic playset and took days to completely set up so it might be more (hassle) than you're looking for.
LOL that we did. We love it but it was a GD beast. @ilovemarfa let me know what you're thinking and I'm happy to tell you about our ordeal...er...experience :-p
@elmoali we are thinking of maybe getting a gorilla playset and putting it together ourselves. We looked at rainbow but we aren't going to spend $4500 on a swing set. We are looking to spend about $2000.
Ok so here's what I learned. We built (lol my ILs built) a Swing N Slide Kit (the Kodiak) because my FIL, having built a few in the past, thinks cedar wood is crap and more than that, the wood that comes with kits is crap. That said, buying a set with the wood included would definitely make the entire process easier.
Our kit, already assuming you are purchasing the wood separately, claims it would take 2 people 6 hours to build. El oh el. My ILs worked on it half day Friday, all day Sunday (with DH), all day Monday and all day Tuesday and then all day Wednesday with DH. The last day was spent entirely on putting together and attaching a 7 foot tube slide.
