BJCS with adapters or double snap and go?

Sorry for another stroller question.  I have been planning on getting a City select for when the twins get here with a Jr X rider for my DS who will be turning two around the time they arrive.  However, I was noticing that for the price of buying two car seat adaptors (or a little less), I could just get a double snap and go.  Does anyone have any preference over which one is easier?  Do you have to take the car seat adaptors off of the City select every time you fold it?  I had a snap n go with DS and loved how light it was.

I think the Jr X rider will fit on either, but the benefit to the city select would be that I can have the option of one adaptor and one seat for my toddler and wearing the other baby.  Any insight would be super helpful!

I obviously have no experience yet with twins, but I just bought the Joovy Twin Roo Snap and Go + the Jr. Rider for my 2 year old.  It just seemed easier and more logistic for the early months.  Not sure what I will do when they are bigger!

I have the adapters for the Britex and they just stay on. They're small and different from the adapters for other infant seats for the bjcs. It made by bjcs a snap and go. And I'll do what you do, toddler in seat, baby in car seat and other baby in ergo. I also got the buggy board for the 2 year old and it folds up into the stroller, so I don't have to take it off to put the stroller in the car. He does amazing on it.

I have the adapters for Chicco Keyfit seats. I do take both of them off, but only because I have a small trunk space (Kia Soul--bought right before we found out we were pg and with twins!)! It really isn't a big deal at all. I can get the stroller all set with the boys in less than a minute! I wanted the Britax adapters, but the infant seats didn't fit in the back seat. I've never used a snap n go so can't comment on that.
ETA: I love how super easy the BJCS is to push, even with both car seats. I can go to a Target or do a small grocery store run and use the basket underneath and a bag hanging from a hook on the handle. Not sure what kind of basket space a snap n go has.

  • See if you can find your adapters used for cheaper. I got one of mine secondhand and the other from this crazy random surplus store on a vacation to DH's hometown in Ohio for 75% off of retail. People often sell the car seat adapters on Craigslist before they're done with the stroller.

Or join a multiples mom group and they do big consignment type sales. Or at least have an email/fb group you can post an ISO to.
  • We just ordered a BJCS for our twins - we had planned to use a double snap n go for the first 6+ months, but when we put the snap n go together this week, realized that our carseats (Britax B-Safe) don't fit and aren't compatible with it.  Now we have a stroller to return!  I recommend checking on the snap n go and joovy websites to make sure your car seats are compatible before going with a frame stroller!

  • I vote DSNG. So lightweight, quick and easy and b/c it's just a frame, it holds its resale value well. Especially if you buy one in EUC, you could probably re-sell it for the same price you paid for it! I snagged a hot deal on mine for $60 (new!) on Amazon and re-sold it for around $40 after 6 months of use.

  • I vote the DSNG.  I got the BJCS with the adapters and when my kids outgrew the infant seats and we started using the stroller as just the stroller I realize how much I hated it.  I'm now trying to sell it and get a SBS.  I wish I had just got the DSNG until I knew what would work best for me when they were bigger.

  • Thanks for all the input ladies!  We have one chicco key fit 30 from DS and planned to get another, so it looks like the Joovy Twin Roo is a better option for us for just a stroller frame.  I remember how late I ran to everything when DS was a newborn, so I want a super easy, quick, lightweight option.  It's looking like this might be a better option for us.

I'm also not sure if I want the city select or a double city mini.  I have a single city mini that I love.  I stuck DS in each at Buy Buy Baby recently and it looks like he has more grow room in a double city mini vs. the city select, and I'm assuming the twins (both boys) may end up with the same build.
