diaper rash question

out of our twins, DD has the more sensitive skin as opposed to DS. he has gotten only two or three diaper rashes in his 16 months, but DD seems to be really suceptible to them. i feel like we've tried everything. we moved from pampers to the earths best diapers. also switched to earths best sensitive wipes. have tried airing her out, soaking her, using triple paste, lotrimin (in case it's become a yeast infection per the nurses instructions) and still it seems to continue coming back. we do have a pedi appt for a physical on friday, but in the meantime i'm wondering if you ladies have any other ideas?? beside frequent diaper changes and keeping it as clean as possible i'm at a loss.

Ditto Ducky, we use Desitin with every diaper change since G got rotavirus in the fall. Also, pedi recommended using cortisone cream with the Desitin to help with healing skin.

Throw some baking soda in her bath.  You can also use liquid maalox.  Both of these lower the acidity level, and relieve the burning, pain, and redness.

What exactly does the rash look like?  Could it be a food sensitivity?

Ditto @TJ1979‌ ! Baking soda in a very warm bath does wonders for sore bottoms! A is susceptible to diaper rashes too we use desitin after every diaper change for ~4 days after a rash has cleared. I love using Calmoseptine when she has a rash. Ever since we found out about baking soda, it's been much better!

thanks ladies! i am going to do the baking soda thing. We apply diaper rash cream after every change so i know that's not the issue. she loves really acidic fruit like oranges so maybe i'll let up on that for a couple days (and discuss with the pedi friday). Thanks again!

This thread has been very helpful. Hannah doesn't often get diaper rashes, but when she does they are brutal, come on fast and take FOREVER to go away!!!

@Robeano Are you still using cloth?  Have you tried CJs?  The baking soda bath sounds like it would really help in H's situation though.

@TJ1979 I am still using cloth. Not sure what CJs is. And the baking soda bath sounds like a wonderful idea! Especially cuz I have so much baking soda, I use it to wash my hair so I bought the ecnomony size at Sam's club haha
